Fox News star Megyn Kelly has changed agents and publicity teams since last year. Now the question is if she will change TV networks. Host of The Kelly File, one of the cable-news channels most popular shows, Ms. Kelly is in active talks over her contract, which expires next July. Her profile has been rising during the presidential election cycle, in part thanks to a dust-up with Republican candidate Donald Trump.

I am indifferent, just as I’m indifferent to all the other tv personalities I don’t see. However, I think the economic phenomenon of the multi-million-dollar celebrity journalistic figure is very interesting.
The general public asks, about many people, “Why is this employee paid so much?” The only reasonable answer is “economic value to the employer.”
There now a bunch of outlets on the right so no need to see Megyn. Liz Wheeler at One America News Network is on against Megyn and so is Steve Malzberg on Newsmax TV. Also Tomi Lahren is at The Blaze. Megyn is history.
I have a good friend who has defended her, thinks she is the greatest, she called me yesterday, just furious with her rant against Newt. Said she and her husband are done, will not watch her. (Same thing with The Five)
Take away her looks and she would be worth minimum wage.
These kinds of contract negotiations show that profitability is not the primary goal of MSM companies - propaganda is their core business.
Me thinks she’s just a pig. Snort, snort!
Easy Peasey.... let the Byotch GO.
I’m sure she’ll fit in well with Rachael Maddow (considering Kelly’s new butch haircut ) and Morning Jerk and his mistress Mika.
Looks like she is ripping a fart.
Mygroin Kelly isn’t paid for anything north of her waist.
Stopped watching her after first Rep debate.
Stopped watching Fox entirely last month.
Will YouTube Lou Dobbs or the Judge.
Off NFL as well with the National Anthem stuff.
So nice to have so much more time.
Was spending time watching other people do things; now have more time to do things myself.
Driving from Indy to Western PA next week to GOTV.
Perhaps she can team up with “perky” Katie Couric and shuffle off to some Yahoo webcast?
Screwz the 'newz'!
“However, I think the economic phenomenon of the multi-million-dollar celebrity journalistic figure is very interesting.”
Your statement alone presents the issue in an objective, truthful manner that shines light on what so called ‘journalism’ has actually become: another form of entertainment.
I would say this....if Fox says no, and she goes to anyone else...I doubt seriously that they’d pay more than $10 a year for her. None of them have the viewer numbers to really make this deal worth $20-million. I think Fox will say adios to her and she signs up with NBC for their nightly news team.
Agreed.
I am surprised they are even discussing anything with this bad joke of a host.
“another form of entertainment”
Yes, that’s how I view it. I used to refer to figures such as Ms. Kelly as “newsreaders,” but that’s not accurate any longer. They’re celebrities/performers, more like the Kardashians than like the reporters of 40 years ago.
Megyn Kelly’s dream: To have Trump’s scalp dangling from her belt so that when politicians come into her presence, they will quake with fear, which, of course, will affect her bargaining in contract negotiations. She is one of Elizabeth Warren’s nasty women.
The exorbitant salary mentioned, $20 million, just happens to more than O’Reilly’s huge contract, and would make BOR second banana at FNC.
Current CNN salaries are far less, and MK has been rumored to be heading there for months. So it’s likely just her final negotiating gamble with FNC. She doesn’t have anything to lose by making an outrageous demand of FNC.
