LOL first time experience. I got robbed. One guy had gun, flashed it, other didn't. They got my phone, credit card (already cancelled) bank card (already cancelled) and a few bux (40).
I was pretty impressed with my reaction. Zero fear, total calm. If I was packing the gun dude would be dead and I would have had total control of my weapon, total calm means no trembling. I guess I'm good under pressure LOL
Probably happy they din't shoot me anyways, but everything I lost I can get back just fine. Boneheads. Kinda wish I was rollin heavy. I'd have two bodies under my belt. hehehehe
No offense bro, but this is the exact worst reaction people can have to addiction. You do not conquer it. You cannot put effort into it. You do not dominate it.
To succeed, you must totally surrender. You must rely on God and other people in the program. Beating drugs is impossible. Surrendering to your condition and asking God and your fellow man is the only thing that works.
Glad you are fine, but YES report to the police about it, It may save another life since these folks likely will continue and proly escalate in violence.
I always wondered if that applied to apartment complexes. Had a killer on the run near the one where I live once, APB, etc. I carried until they caught him, out of simple common sense. But I wondered about the legality of it at the time.
Well, I have to consider that if a man flashes a gun at me to rob me, there is a chance he might use it anyways. So -- calmly -- if I was carrying I'd need to assure I had control of the situation.
Because they were both bleeding out. :)
I think a prosecutor would have a hard time nailing you if you defended yourself in your complex.
My complex is very small by Atlanta standards. Perfectly reasonable to walk the .3 acre grounds, packed.
Proof that you are truly brave. My three assaults by Mexicans caused me to get pumped up, wired and ready for action. Sadly, I learned from the assaults that I am completely lacking in self-defense tools. Now I am taking classes. Remember: 90% of crime involves perpetrators needing money for drugs.
I gotta tell ya, I always assumed I was a big p***y. Kinda surprised I’m not.
I would not term my condition ‘brave’, but more ‘without fear’.
I did notice a peripheral vision decrease, common in these situations. You tend to focus on the immediate threat. I was almost tempted to jump the guy and get a free gun outta the deal, he was so careless in his handling.
That’s really not bravery, more of an absence of fear.
This was so cool. I learned a lot about myself tonight. There ain’t no situation of danger I won’t be able to handle. I’m gonna be JUST FINE. :)
Glad you’re ok.
Where? Atlanta?
Glad you’re okay.
Oh, and to see if I can impart some help to ya: I have a total lack of concern if I live or I die. I lost that the hard way, in my former lifestyle of addiction to hard drugs. That, combined with my lack of a wife or children — I figure I got zero to lose.
Once you embrace there is nothing that can be taken from you, you stop caring about living or dying. You lose all your fear. You just live and do the best you can.
And if someone flashes a gun, you really aren’t phased by it.
“That the best you got?” lol
you got lucky bro.
Yeah, you’re right. It’s a service to the next guy. That guy might have more to lose.
Wow, Laz.
Giving that response revealed a HELL of a lot more wisdom and courage than anything else you posted tonight!
Thank you for that, and God bless.
Glad you survived unscathed. Things will catch up with those two.
My number one attribute, that I have even had other people notice, is an inordinate amount of luck.
Glad for your safety.
Keep counting down the days, as you have been.
Be vigilant.
maybe once he realizes that his heart rate will go up and that I wish I rolling heavy talk will change.
I’m just a well-trained parrot, that repeats what the 12-step program taught me. I’m no guru; I’m not wise. It’s the collective wisdom of millions that I parrot.
Hope they catch them? Hell I didn’t even call the cops. There’s no point to all that. I suppose I can call tomorrow (no phone now) just to put Brookhaven on notice they got some ferals out and about.>>> is that Brookhaven, PA? my brother lives in aston.
No, my heart rate is destined to be level. I learned a lot about how I react under pressure. I’m delighted I am who I evolved to become. :)
