When the storm hits the apartment will no longer seem like a familiar environment to him. The noise from the storm and the darkness from the lack of power can make even a familiar place spooky.
I cannot remember any brick apartment buildings in PSL. Brick veneer over block or wood frame yes. If you know the apartment building name I can probably tell you when it was built and whether it is in a flood zone.

My Mom and her dog left her house on Merritt Island (North Banana River Dr.) to stay in Rockledge. Not that far inland but off the island.
Don’t know when power will go off and for how long.

My FIL is on A1A just north of Sebastian Inlet. In fact, Jim Cantore now reporting live from across the street from him. He and his lady friend have chosen to ignore mandatory evacuation and think they're fine. We are sincerely hoping and praying they change their mind and GET OUT. In any case, I sure appreciate these threads. Thank you.

And BTW, WTF is this nonsense about the storm looping around and making a second landfall as if to finish the job!
That sort of looping has happened with several previous storms.
I am not saying that many storms have come around to hit the same spot twice; but quite a few have looped around.
