A few comments about the comments:
You have to understand “2001” to appreciate it. Maybe you had to have once been stoned. At least once.
“Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf” was about two homosexuals. That’s the secret that allows you to enjoy it.
“The Unbearable Lightness of Being” was a beautiful book, masterfully translated. Like many great works of fiction, it failed to survive the transformation into film.
“The Remains of the Day”—a literary tour de force with a deep message. It won the Booker prize. Ergo it made a terrible film.
I wish people would stop trying to make movies out of good literature. It doesn’t translate. It only makes you think the book must be just as bad. The more literary the work of fiction, the more ridiculous it is to hope it can be put on the screen.
What the heck was an adolescent cringy fan fiction idea called the Kanjiklub doing in the Star Wars universe anyway? At that point the movie just turned into a comedy rather than a facsimile of a SJW fantasy universe based off of A New Hope.
Out of Africa. I didn’t finish it, but nothing happened for a very long time, and then I gave up.
Reds
Can’t remember the name of the movie; but Meryl Streep was
a main player. It was about lions in Africa and Streep just
droned on and on and on and the movie dragged on and on and
I never was able to stay awake until the end. In fact, just
talking about it here makes me sleepy.
If you grew up in the Motherlode then you
wouldn’t be bored by Paint Your Wagon. There
is more historical accuracy in that musical
comedy than in 95% of movies.
Laugh while you can, monkey boy!
Definitely! Boring in the extreme.
I can only watch about 5 minutes of it.
Couldn't stand it.
Godfather II
Any time travel movie ever made.
Oh gosh. I LOVE time travel movies.
James And The Giant Peach.
The Castle of Fu Manchu.
I was watching some movie Robert Redford was in the other day. Hes on a boat going through trying times and theres almost no dialogue and hes wearing a ring and a watch and going up on deck in the hot sun with no hat and it was all so phony and boring. I sat there watching the movie and realized I wanted to punch him in the face. I shocked myself with that thought.
I thought about all the other movies hes been in, some of them very good movies, and realized I couldnt stand him in those movies either. As I watched this boring movie wondering why someone would be on a boat with a ring on (so very dangerous), out of the clear blue sky I thought, Hes a Leo. I quickly brought up Wikipedia and was pleased to see I was right.
Now I have no truck with all that astrology stuff, but theres something about Leos that makes me want to punch them in the face. The movie was so boring that as it droned on I got to thinking about what it is about Leos that makes them so obvious. I think its something around their jaw line. Its so pleased with itself. I think they tend to be narcissistic. And not in a good way.
It got me thinking (the movie was REALLY boring) about other Leos: Bill Clinton, a Leo (and as a side note, left-handed); Barack Hussein Obama, another Leo (interestingly also left-handed); and my brother, not left-handed. They all, in their own way, with their self-satisfied jaw line make me want to smack them.
Papa can you hear me?
I wish people would stop trying to make movies out of good literature.
Gone With the Wind
Catch-22
In Harm’s Way
“The Turning Point”
The audience including myself walked out silently like they went though electric shock wondering what the hell they just saw...
Movie made no sense whatsoever, jumping from spanish conquistadors to Jack Hughman floating in a bubble out in space to modern times, back and forth with no stream of thought or theme...
It only took about an hour though the movie to understand he was a immortal time traveler...
If I ever hang myself I want this playing on a loop with my body rotating very very slowly...
THAT was awful as well .....
