It likes you.
I your pocket there is no place for heat to dissipate.
Probably getting ready to burst into flames. It’s happened several times before...
Yes, especially if you accidentally leave the display on, have numerous apps open that are using battery and/or have wifi, personal hotspot or other communications active. A case can also trap heat.
No. Get an appointment at the Genius Bar and listen to what they tell you.
Mine does too. Just warm, not hot.
Are you just happy to see me or is that a IPhone 6 in your pocket?
My apologies to Mae West....
Is it powered off? I was told that the battery will get warm while it’s on even though the screen is blank.

Did you leave your cooking app on?
Is it doing a lot of work while in your pocket? (Background apps). Going over 98.6 degrees? ;-)
Delete the Pocket Warmer App.
Front pants pocket? Ummmm, er, how big is your ....(never mind)
Yes, and No. It will get warm if there are apps running.
The more battery it uses, the hotter it gets.
Plus, you put it into your pocket and it insulates the heat inside.
So, try closing down as many applications as possible when you are not using them, before you put it into your pocket.,
That will save battery life too.
Do you use Bluetooth and wifi all the time? turn them off.
Make sure your display is not coming in when it is in your pocket.
A new study just came out, I think it was from the UK, that showed that men carrying cell phones in their pockets had a decreased sperm count.

Three power hungry processes can make your phone warm enough to notice while in your pocket.
1. Your phone will use more power trying to stay in touch with a weak cell signal, than with a strong one. Particularly when it is actively doing data communication for running applications that you have not stopped.
2. Same as one, but for WiFi.
3. Your display is on, (Like it is when it is in the screen saver mode for Pokemon Go.)
On an iPhone consider closing running apps once in a while by double tapping the home button, then sliding the apps you want to stop, upwards.
For general memory management, consider powering off your phone completely once every month or so.
I think you have to pay extra for that.
You now need the vibration app.
You have too many apps running in the pocket.
The phone should not get any warmer than you are.
Also you want to check who running analytics on you.
