“Get an appointment at the Genius Bar”

Sad to report the genius bar shut down several years back. We used to have some heated conversations in there. The shear brilliance was on full display. From midnight on genius abounded. Nobody had cellphones back then though.

Three power hungry processes can make your phone warm enough to notice while in your pocket.

1. Your phone will use more power trying to stay in touch with a weak cell signal, than with a strong one. Particularly when it is actively doing data communication for running applications that you have not stopped.

2. Same as one, but for WiFi.

3. Your display is on, (Like it is when it is in the screen saver mode for Pokemon Go.)

On an iPhone consider closing running apps once in a while by double tapping the home button, then sliding the apps you want to stop, upwards.

For general memory management, consider powering off your phone completely once every month or so.

I think you have to pay extra for that.

You now need the vibration app.

You have too many apps running in the pocket.

The phone should not get any warmer than you are.

Also you want to check who running analytics on you.

Go back in to settings and start turning off statistics.

I have the same issue with a Samsung 6. I found I need to close all apps, then it’s fine.

Make sure all the apps you aren't using are terminated.

And, make sure that location services are only enabled while you are using the app.

The warmth from your body keeps heat from dissipating.

Is it in a case? That can also trap heat.

Mine does not get hot.
Do you leave a bunch of stuff open ?

My husbands phone used to get hot too.
His phone had a battery problem .
He used to leave it charging all night long which you are not suppose to do.

The best place to get support for Apple products.

When you need a hardware repair, you can make a reservation at the Genius Bar. For software or services, get help even faster by phone or chat.

http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/

Still going strong ... good place for answers for any Apple product.

It is

Question are you closing all your apps before putting it away? The more you have open the more battery drain there is and the more warmth you’ll get

FYI, depends on the transmission power, which is controlled by your local cell tower. the farther away - the more power
