Just a little harmless temporary distraction from the political BS.
Few of the photos are numbered or labeled. The ones that are labeled I labeled when I posted them as stand-alone threads. This is a compilation of those old threads.
And if you're on dial-up, by the time this page loads for you, Earth will probably be entering the next ice age. Sorry for that. :(

Good pics, ETL.
#6 - why is American flag on floor in backseat?
To: HonkyTonkMan
I don’t know. Car was probably in a show with flag to be displayed with it I guess.

I am a genuine car nut. I surf several city’s Craig listings. I’ve noticed that cars up to about 1955 are suddenly coming available at very reasonable prices. Unfortunately, I think this signals the passing of the generations that remember those cars on the road. I am looking for a decent driver with a flathead, preferably a straight 8. I probably won’t buy one as I can’t really afford a toy right now, but I keep looking.

What was with all those Mexican lowriders?
As much as I like T-buckets, all that power and a high, flat widshield seem a recipe for disaster.

Ive noticed that cars up to about 1955 are suddenly coming available at very reasonable prices.I've noticed it somewhat too on that Mecum auto auction show on cable.
For anyone unaware of this terrific series, and who has cable, you MUST do search of your cable lineup and find this program. Simply search for "Mecum". They present many cars like the ones you see here, along with many, mostly American, stock/original cars.

What was with all those Mexican lowriders?I don't think there was a single "Mexican lowrider" in this set, although *some* of them are done very well and tastefully. Not all are tacky.

Anything with an inch or less ground clearance is a lowrider, though not owned by a mexican perhaps.
Damn sure not a muscle car.
To: One_American
You’re welcome. Glad you enjoyed them. Thank God there are still plenty of folks around keeping this stuff alive, at least for now. Hopefully, the newer generations will pick it up and continue on.

Lots of low clearance cars in that series that definitely won’t be joining car shows where speed bumps are in place.......LOL!

It’s hard to tell from the picture, but it might not be an actual flag. Maybe just a beach towel or some such.

When I think "lowrider", I think something like this below. IMO, some are done tastefully, others not. What I do like about them are nearly entirely the ideas they stole from American custom car builders. ie, the beautiful custom paint jobs, chroming, custom interiors, etc. I hate the hydraulics/hopping crap.
