Do you have a Costco nearby?
If not Ebay has been running some real deals with free shipping.
4K 65 inch under a thousand.
Costco has a 60 inch 4K Vizio for $699.00 free shipping. I use the 1080p Vizio 70 inch, have two of them on on Cable other on Computer. 5 year warranty for about $80.00
check out TCL tv - price-wise.
I can’t speak for quality, but I am looking seriously at them

Go to Amazon. Go to the TV dept. Click on screen sizes you want on the left. Click on sort by price on the upper right. Scroll to the $1000 limit and then start shopping.
You can retrofit FREE televisions in this manner, also; their performance will be boosted considerably.
Your mind will thank you for it.
I like Samsungs, they are good reliable TV’s..my suggestions, the KS series..55 inch right now is 1399 at best buy but Im waiting til Black Friday Im crossing my fingers for a good deal..and always get the protection plan, nothing usually ever happens during the first 30 days, TV’s tend to go bad after that so get a 4 year plan its about 150 bucks
Great question I have a early 2003 50”inch plasma Panasonic. Was looking to upgrade to a 65 inch. I was looking at the UHD 4K models. Not sure what you gain with them other than cutting edge technology. Also why would one want to buy a curved screen versus regular screen
I’ve had some very good luck with Panasonics, but learned to stay away from Sony products.
We use 60 inch Samsung Smart TVs. They are 4k, have 4 HDMI jacks and can access lots of apps through your router. They also have a “real” remote, although we never use them, since we have cable and use their remotes. You should be able to find one under $1k these days.
Likely not what you are looking for, but I got this projector and a screen. There are others of different quality - but the price is so LOW! Has been fun to have for under $100.00!
On Amazon...

OLED. One of the newer screen technologies. Check it out. I was in Costco a few months ago and they had a large OLED TV on display next to all their other TVs. All I can say is OLED is stunning. Expensive, but it’s definitely going to be my next TV if I can possibly swing it. I second Samsung.
The latest TVs watch you watching them.
Just remembered you want to keep it under $1K. IMO, curved screens aren’t worth it. 3D isn’t worth it. 4K probably isn’t worth it right now. But OLED is definitely worth it. And a smart TV is worth it (of course, it depends on how you want to use it)...
Anyway, here’s Google’s Shopping result:
Notice at the bottom of the “Popular” TVs is a $1149 OLED LG. Close, but it’s curved (not worth it). Check the stores and take a look at one of these things in person. Good luck and let us know what you buy!
We have a Magnavox that we are happy with.
I will sell you my 1966 Motorola console color television. Comes with AM-FM tuner and stereo LP record player. The set comes equipped with a seven year old boy trained in how to change channels and operate the antenna rotor controls. The antenna and antenna rotor motor however are not included. Good luck on finding vacuum tubes. / sarcasm
VIZIO, but not the newest versions that do NOT have a TV tuner.
Their 50+ inch sets have 4-5 HDMI ports. Their ‘smart’ TVs are supposed to have all of the latest apps.
Depending on the model type, they have real remotes.
I bought a 32” 720p widescreen VIZIO in 2008 and it is still has a crystal sharp picture. I had to replace the remote a few months ago and found one via Amazon.com for $7.

Second choice would be LG.

SamJUNK is on my ‘Never buy another piece of junk from them’ list. One month after a Win7 I-7 laptop warranty ended, the motherboard died. They don’t make replacements, so I have an $800 doorstop. Similar experience with a DVR.
