U2 singer Bono warned Tuesday that America is more than a country, it’s an idea, and a Donald Trump presidency could destroy that idea.
In an interview with “CBS This Morning,” Bono, whose real name is Paul David Hewson, argued that the Republican presidential nominee has already “hijacked” the GOP.
“I think he’s hijacked the party, and I think he’s trying to hijack the idea of America,” Bono said. “And I think it’s bigger than all of us. I think it’s — this is really dangerous.” …

The hijacker was Bill Clinton. Markie Post jumping on the Lincoln Bed. Hillary's Travelgate and Vice Foster scandals. Immediate abandonment of all broadcast standards for language and vulgarity by a gleeful Hollywood. Seeding of the Justice Department and other agencies with leftover 60's radicals possessing no actual ability but bringing with them serious axes to grind against Middle America. A vast cavalcade of incompetent racial and sexual minority political figures and activists promoted to public prominence and allowed to act out long-standing grudges against "Dad." Monica Lewinsky...in the Oval Office itself.
This hijacking of America between 1993 and 1995 has never been effectively countered, let alone reversed. The dot com and real estate bubbles hid a lot of the societal damage from the notice of the public.

Bono has long ago destroyed his credibility. He’s a half-decent musician, but his loudmouth politicking has so turned off his UK countryman that the mention of his name generates reams of negative comments on DailyMail and elsewhere. Why he thinks he has a say in our elections is beyond me. We have counties the size of Ireland.
For all those who get their political opinion from Rock ‘n’ Rollers but felt that Springsteen was not sufficiently inane.

I read Daniel Duquenal’s blog from the ‘front lines’ in Venezuela.
I also read Gavin Seim’s Facebook page. He talks about the need to end ‘faction’ like Beck used to a couple of years back before he started repeating the Corporatist RINO talking points to take down Trump.
