U2 singer Bono warned Tuesday that America is more than a country, it’s an idea, and a Donald Trump presidency could destroy that idea.
In an interview with “CBS This Morning,” Bono, whose real name is Paul David Hewson, argued that the Republican presidential nominee has already “hijacked” the GOP.
“I think he’s hijacked the party, and I think he’s trying to hijack the idea of America,” Bono said. “And I think it’s bigger than all of us. I think it’s — this is really dangerous.” …

The story he related was that Bono was just a guy in the neighborhood who heard that the band wanted a singer. He gave it a shot and obviously it worked.
So, in short, a guy who was a hack in the burbs of Dublin, is now one qualified to give advice to the leaders of the world?
My advice on your Dublin trip: Skip the U2 admiration part and at St. James Gate, head straight for the tower.

It was interesting when I first heard it (early ‘80s), but got old quickly. The band is a one-trick donkey, imo.
They’re so outdated....I suppose they’ve been playing at these Fund raisers for Hillary too...they’re so out of lockstep with the American people......that whole generation thinks Hillarys going to bring in their Nervana Utopia they’ve been waiting for.

Coming from Mrs. Cruz, Glenn would be less likely to immediately burst into angry tears or (once again) threaten to jump out the window of his ground floor office into the flowerbeds. Ted just didn’t need the added melodrama right now.
