We have just received information that a certain Marine Corps INFANTRY BATTALION currently stationed at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina has been placed in an ALERT STATUS. All leave has been cancelled for the unit, and all Marines have been ordered back to base immediately!
Camp Lejeune
Camp Lejeune is located only a few hours away, by HUMVEE, from Charlotte, North Carolina. We are unable to confirm if this is related to the Insurrection in Charlotte. However, this is the closest location of US Military Troops to Charlotte. We will continue to bring your the latest news as it develops.
Also, we have learned that President Obama is planning to address the crisis in the next few days. We will update this article as information comes available.

No way would the 82nd do obingo’s bidding!

My younger son says there is no such thing as a “Former Marine.”

The quality of your sense of humor has deteriorated lately...
.
That too
I stood that 30 day standby duty on several occasions form ‘77 through ‘80.
Never heard of this site.... I’m waving the bullshit flag. I served two tours with the 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, NC.... ‘77 - ‘80 and ‘86 - ‘89.
Sounds like someone’s been watching the movie “Heartbreak Ridge”.
Dark have been my dreams of late...
Once a Marine, always a Marine. Never use the term ex-Marine. But I think former is OK, short for former active duty.
I never heard of it before either, one of the reasons I posted the story. Also, thank you for your service. My son reports to Parris Island Oct. 17th for boot camp. He is very excited about it.
I retired from the Corps twenty years ago this past July 1st.
My “Twilight Duty Tour” was MCRD, Parris Island. A wonderful place where I personally witnessed the transition of great American young men and women into the ranks of the world’s finest fighting orgaization.
With all the silliness on the Amercan Academic Campi today, your son is going to get “the education of a lifetime” .... something he will NEVER forget.
You should be proud. “Semper Fi!”
