I did not “attack” you.

I merely offered a different point of view.

If I decide to “attack”, you will surely note the difference between the two.

:)

What level of misbehavior warrants this form of “correction” exactly?

Did she pull a shiv on the checkout girl?

Would you ever seize your dog by the ears and drag it along?

Didn’t think so.

I guess I torture my daughter every Saturday when I put her hair up for ballet. Dumb move on this dad’s part, but I would be happy to take folks on some field trips if they want to see or hear about real abuse. Bad diagnosis and criminal malpractice on the response, folks.

Exactly right. I fear some people have led far too sheltered lives. They do not have a realistic view of what constitutes "abuse."

You may as well sell the child to an Eastern European slave trader as call CPS. That is one sure way to ruin a family and ensure the children are actually abused and 90% more likely to become criminals themselves.

I have seen this happen to people. My niece called the CPS on her mother and told them a bunch of lies. My sister had to go through all sorts of crap to accommodate the Nazis before she got her daughter back. After that, she let the child get away with anything and everything. It ruined the child, it ruined the family, and no good came of it.

I've seen other examples of ridiculous overreach by CPS. They literally do not have a rational brain in that bunch. There was a famous case in my City where these CPS wackjobs were getting children to say all sorts of things by asking them leading questions.

Before it was over, all the officials at one of our public schools were accused of being "Satan Worshipers" who were dancing naked in the moonlight while engaging in human sacrifice. It got so bad even the prosecutors acknowledged that there was no case. All charges were dropped, and the CPS people were taken to the woodshed.

This is the same sort of stuff that occurred in the Salem Witch trials. I mean EXACTLY the same sort of stuff.

Is it up to you to decide for him? No. Not me either.

Do you know everything about why this was happening? Do you know anything, just one thing why? No.

“My husband would not have called the police on this man. He would have called an ambulance and then “prepared” the man for his trip to the hospital.”

Texas is a CCW state. The ambulance might still have come in handy, however.

“Burch said she flagged down an officer and he called his sergeant with the Cleveland Police Department.”

My bad. I first read this on another site. One that could not be posted to FR. It only had pictures and Wal Mart. I was reading it there and mostly it talked of the man dragging her and wal mart shoppers watching.

Like I said in my first comment my parents said if I acted up in the store they would put me in the car and take me home. This little girl is 5. I was a year younger than her when I acted up and my aunt took the cart over to the manager and said “watch this please while I take her home she won’t behave” and by golly she did! She just put me in the car and took me home. It was shameful to me, you realize that how long ago that was and I still remember it to this day? She took my little brother to the store and he got something and I didn’t. I never misbehaved again.

BS.

Allow me to elaborate on that. In the store! I did not misbehave in the store! At home? Yes I was a terror there but at the store I was good as gold.

I merely offered a different point of view.

Please point that out, I don't see it on the thread.

“Dragging’? I think not.

Can’t say I’m a fan of the technic, but hardly a crime. Would they rather he spank the crap out of her?

As a parent, one of the better things I’ve done for my kids is to first teach them to NOT act up in stores and second, to point out kids losing their $hit in places like Wal-Mart and say “see...I told you what you’d look like.” Get that lesson in early and it sticks for life.

I have five siblings who still struggle in various ways with the abuse. I still do from time to time, too. It is hard to be a parent, and I get that. There are ways to discipline children without crossing the line.

I know what you mean about your mom. Kids who have been sexually abused need special help too. Sometimes we try to handle our problems by ourselves, but getting help is very important.

But, I’m getting my revenge. I’m picking out his CHEAP Nursing Home with Nurse Ratchet at the helm. And he KNOWS this, LOL!

I've always said "be careful how you treat your children; one day you will answer to an adult for it."

who wants this little girl to go to CPS?...nobody...that is why good people in that store should have gently reminded this so called "man" that what he was doing was over the line and that somebody in that store would turn him in if he didn't stop...

this "mind your own business" is a bunch of crap....stand up and step up to people and the govt doesn't need to get involved...

now, because no one in that store did the Godly thing by talking to that man then and there, he will be investigated...

Oh my gosh! Then you MUST stick you nose in and ruin his life! How could you stand yourself if you didn’t?

My Dad and I have a great relationship...later in life! I left home at 17 (10 minutes after High School Graduation) and wasn’t around much until my mid-30’s when I settled back down from my globe trotting.

He thought I’d never make ANYTHING of myself, though he LOVES to brag on my Army Career - calls me his, ‘Five Foot Two Tank Commando.’

I have never missed a meal and have never lacked a roof over my head or clothing to wear thanks to him. Totally normal upbringing; a Mom AND a Dad! He loves me like the Sun coming up in the morning. I can do no wrong in his eyes, and I can depend on that.

Not many women these days HAVE that, so I appreciate it. He’s still living on his own in an apartment. I have help that comes in 3x a week but I run all of his errands for him each week, assemble his meds for the week, do his laundry, get groceries, play a few hands of Cribbage with him and pay his bills, etc.

We’ll keep this up until he needs more medical assistance. For now, It’s All Good. :)
