Everyone is probably already in FReeper snoozeland, but I'll post this anyway. I was chatting with a friend earlier, and I was reminded of a scene and quote from the movie When Peggy Sue Got Married. That made me think of the music from that movie, which I couldn't quite recall, but I knew it was really pretty and emotion evoking. Come to find out it was composed by one of my favourite movie music composers, John Barry. Anyway, this is it. It's really pretty as so much of his stuff is...
When Kathleen Turner (as a teen) answers the phone and hears her grandmother's voice again she breaks down and cries. everyone around me in the theater did the same thing. Movies don't seem to have that anymore.
Thank you for reminding me of that scene. I do seem to recall it. I saw it on cable and watched it many, many times back then, but it’s been since the late 80s that I’ve seen it. I think the movie touches on things that so many humans feel. Regret. Longing to have another chance to make different choices. Longing to see people that are no longer in our lives either because of death or just because they’ve moved on. I do daydream sometimes about time travel...times from my youth and to times from before I was born.
Nice. Wouldn’t mind seeing the movie.
John Barry did several James Bond films also, including Goldfinger...one of my favorite movie soundtracks.
That’s right. That same friend and I were not long ago discussing Bond music over the years, and I think John Barry came up with that discussion.
PSGM was a good flick, and the tunes were good, too.

You are welcome. John Barry certainly did some beautiful themes during his time.
