It was a good movie - very moving in parts. Thanks for your post and observations.

When Kathleen Turner (as a teen) answers the phone and hears her grandmother's voice again she breaks down and cries. everyone around me in the theater did the same thing. Movies don't seem to have that anymore.

Thank you for reminding me of that scene. I do seem to recall it. I saw it on cable and watched it many, many times back then, but it’s been since the late 80s that I’ve seen it. I think the movie touches on things that so many humans feel. Regret. Longing to have another chance to make different choices. Longing to see people that are no longer in our lives either because of death or just because they’ve moved on. I do daydream sometimes about time travel...times from my youth and to times from before I was born.
