Do trees have brains and talk to each other? They are intelligent, express emotions and make friends

There's increasing evidence to show that trees are able to communicate with each other. More than that, trees can learn.

The main reason humans cannot perceive how clever and complex they are is because we exist in such short time scales by comparison. There's a tree in Sweden for instance, a spruce, that is more than 9,500 years old. That's 115 times longer than the average human lifespan.

Yes! IMO, trees have gotten a free pass for too darned long! Everyone thinks of them as these passive stationary organisms. They are not!!

Based on the whimsical claims made...

They say it is better to sell the sizzle, than the steak ( stake?).

I feel sorry for a tree that hates his neighbors. It’s not like they can move.

Yes, your neighbor, could be the root of all evil!!!

Give trees the right to vote.

Would using a wooden pencil be a start in that direction?

A brother-in-law is a vegetarian and was disgusted that I buried the cat there, let alone without a casket, and vows to never eat fruit from my trees.

What did he think happened in the forest primeval? Animals just decomposed wherever they fell and the rains spread the nutrients around.

These fungi operate like fibre-optic internet cables. Their thin filaments penetrate the earth, weaving through it in almost unbelievable density. One teaspoon of forest soil contains many miles of these tendrils.
Over centuries, if left undisturbed, a single fungus can cover many square miles and create a network throughout an entire forest. Through these links, trees can send signals about insects, drought and other dangers.

” There is unrest in the forest There is trouble with the trees For the maples want more sunlight And the oaks ignore their pleas “

As I suspected, it's settled science!
They even have songs about it!

You never see black oaks and white oaks in the same forest

Perhaps with some free government money, you could do some transplanting!
And repair the injustice!

I Heard A Forest Praying
~~~~~
I heard a forest praying
The trees were cold and bare.
What was the forest praying?
Let me repeat their prayer.
Trees make a playground for children
Trees hide a lovers lane.
Shelter the tired and the weary,
Bringing them hope again.
Man turned the fields and the forest
Into a battlefield grim.
Men took a tree, an innocent tree
And made a cross for Him.
I heard a forest praying.
I heard the heavens weep.
Just as the dawn was breaking,
And night was gone to sleep.
Johnny Mathis - I Heard A Forest Praying Lyrics
Herons Build the monster nest in the upper branches, you think the trees like that?
Could be a fire hazard?
Do reporters have brains? Can they read on an elementary level? Do they have any conception of logic?
It makes perfect sense if you’re a totalitarian to outlaw things we need to live and be happy and then deny it to us. Put the proles in the Stone Age and oppress them mercilessly.
Not creepy, but an excellent LONG term strategy.
On second thought, the roots and branches just creep on outward.
