NBD, able-bodied 🚇 [train] riders who wont give your seat to a GIANT preggo, she sarcastically tweeted on Wednesday. Ill just stand riiiiight next to your head and pray I go into labor.

Pretty sweet trachea too!
Hurray for feminism, sister!
I’ll give up my seat when you go make me a sandwich. Otherwise, stfu and stand there.
That’s great. Never heard of Carson Robison before. Thanks.
Cherish your liberation.
That said, of course I would yield my seat.
Yes, I have learned the hard way that “when are you due?” is a very dangerous question to ask without foreknowledge!
When we moved to Belgium my wife was pregnant with twins and for the first few months there we didn't have a car. We relied on public transportation, especially the street trams. So one day, late in her pregnancy, she got on board a crowded tram with our four year old son in tow, looking for all the world like a giant balloon about to burst. The driver noticed her having to stand, stopped the tram in mid track, got up, went back and gave a young guy seated where my wife and son were standing the verbal equivalent of a tire iron beating. He sheepishly got up and gave the seat to my wife, sneaking off the tram at the very next stop. There was then a round of applause for the driver from the rest of the riders.
She played the heroine in “Cowboys and Aliens.” A very good movie.
Never seen it. Probably never will. But I wouldn’t mind seeing more of her...
I had the exact same thing happen here.. I stood up for a pregnant woman, and some jerk immediately pushed her aside and sat in that place (but he was about 25yo, or so).. I grabbed his shirt sleeve and pulled him back up and said the seat was for the lady. Thankfully, that happened here in Japan, and he scuttled off in embarrassment.
Kudos.. guess I’m not the only one that has witnessed it here...
Attrative, but a femanazi :/
Her uncle was Alexander Cockburn (RIP). I was an avid reader of the WSJ for a number of years, and they had him as an ed page contributor for a while.
He was completely stuck on stupid. He had to be on the other, crazy side of anything and everything. Even if he was on the correct side of an issue, it was for the wrong reason(s), being able to find "just comeuppance" in being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
He'd probably chastise Wilde for associating with the hoi polloi on the subway.
It’s the only way to fly.
what are you doing in Japan? I would love to move there
Been teaching for almost 20 years here.. It’s not what it used to be, salary has gotten pitiful here, but the kids are great ;^)
In New York, rich celebrities take cabs or limos.
There’s no need for her to take the subway.
Wilde is skinny and probably does feel “huge” now that she's pregnant. However, I have skinny friends who really still looked skinny even when they were eight months pregnant and wearing clothes that (understandably) were loose around the middle.
Well, in fairness, the unpregnant chubby women just looked hurt and embarrassed when I offered them seats; it's not as if they told me off or anything.
“Excuse me but what if a man is pregnant?”
Don’t even know how to respond to that one!
