Is retro nostalgia for retro nostalgia so compelling that people are cooking up conspiracy theories about old movies? Apparently.

for his final year at Rydell High

My theory is they were a married middle aged couple who died in the car accident, and they are re-living how they wished high school and how they met were.

That is why even though they are supposed to be in high school they look about 35 years old.

If Grease were written and directed by David Lynch, they might have something.

But it wasn’t. Don’t know who wrote the play nor care to look it up.

I always liked ONJ though.

I love all of these crazy fan theories. Just a guilty pleasure, I guess.

My favorite is the Ferris Bueller "Fight Club" theory where Cameron stayed in bed the whole day and Ferris was a figment of his imagination.

My theory is that Danny was gay and spent a fortune paying off men he slept with so that they wouldn’t tell the tabloids. Oh, wait . . . . .

There were two good things about “Grease:”
1) Olivia Newton John in that black spandex catsuit;
2) The end.

I guess you could argue that most of the characters in books, films, and television are dead. How could anybody disprove that?

True story and no conspiracy. The bedroom scene, where a picture of Elvis was on the wall, was filmed on August 16, 1977. The day that Elvis died. This is what Sandy was singing:

Elvis, Elvis, let me be
Keep that pelvis far from me

Then in real life, Elvis died.
