TRUMP PLANS MAJOR AD BUY AFTER WEEKS OF BEING OUTSPENT (It's about time)

WASHINGTON (AP) — Donald Trump’s campaign is making its biggest general election ad buy to date, with plans to spend upward of $10 million on commercials airing over the next week or so.

The campaign is expecting to air a new ad, which paints rival Hillary Clinton as a job-killer, as soon as Monday in nine states: Ohio, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Florida, where the campaign has already been on the air, along with New Hampshire, Virginia, Iowa, Colorado and Nevada – all battleground states.

Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, has so far been badly outspent by his Democratic rival and groups supporting her. Since clinching her party’s nomination in early June, Clinton has spent more than $77 million on television and radio advertising, largely targeting voters in battleground states, according to Kantar Media’s political ad tracker.

Trump finally hit the airwaves earlier this month with an ad focused on immigration, and so far has only spent about $5 million.

Clinton has reserved about $9.2 million in airtime this week.

The new investment comes amid signs the campaign sees that Trump’s lagging poll numbers may be improving against Clinton’s following a campaign reboot.

Trump senior communications adviser Jason Miller said in a statement that the billionaire businessman’s “positive message of economic opportunity is working and we see the national and battleground state polls all moving in the right direction.”

Romney never responded directly to Obama's lies, Trump has.

No reason to waste money in August.

No one has done a thing to Trump's image.

Romney was even in the polls after the first debate. Vote fraud may have also helped Bahama.

IMO the fact that Trump is not dumping lots of money into often wasted ads has really upset the financial apple cart of the major TV stations and may be just one of the many factors contributing to some of his bad press, albeit minor.

In the past presidential election cycles all the candidates spent a gazillion dollars on TV time just for ads. Not so this year, at least not for Trump. People are moving to alternate forms of communication. ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX have not adjusted.

I don’t think TV ads are very effective. Most people stream content commercial free or DVR their shows and FF past the commercials. Big waste of money in my opinion.

But for some reason, there are people out there caterwauling for them and rending their clothing over the fact that Trump is getting outspent on television ads.

So those clamoring for them will get their damn ads. Hope they are satisfied.

Sorry, my bad.

It was Minnesota.

Emmer is now a member of Congress represeting our 6th District.

He’d have been better as Governor - but all in all, he got good consolation prize of sorts.

Lots of Clinton ads on TV in Southern California. Why?

You can spent 100’s millions on ads but all it takes is one crooked moderator to take down a Presidential nominee, like Romney and Obama on the terror word and Crawley. Romney was speechless after the help from Crawley. Romney had been kicking Obama’s butt up until then. It all turned in one night.

Trump better have his game on with Hillary at every debate. I guarantee you- Hillary will have the questions before hand but not Trump.

I have a two pronged theory, first is it’s an indirect thumb in the eye of the media. They’ve been complaining about the lack of revenue but yet they still criticize him while cashing his checks. Can’t cash a check if he ain’t writing them.

Second theory is he’s doing a political “rope-a-dope,” with Hillary. Let her blow her money taking her best shots only for Trump to deliver the knockout before election day.

Like an earlier poster said, Trump is as effective with social media while Hillary burns thru millions.

I remember reading about Hillary’s big ad buy during the Olympics broadcast. MSM saying what a brilliant move it was, yadda yadda yadda.

Except... the ratings for the Olympic broadcasts were the lowest they’ve been in YEARS. Now who’s running a smart campaign?
