Someone I know who is politically active recently told me that letter writing is actually very effective. They work on some meme where they presume that for every letter they receive, they presume it represents the opinion of 100,000 other people who don’t bother to write letters.

I forgot what he called it, but I thought that was very interesting.

And if you do not remember the fallout over HR^, the bill that would have heavily regulated homeschooling and the resulting outcry that happened, people’s opinion is important and does matter.

The Battle of HR6.

Ping to the homeschool list for that history plus, if this happens, it WILL affect homeschooling which I know depends heavily on internet resources.

So you are suggesting that writing a letter carried over snail mail would be more effective than an email?

Perhaps a postcard campaign could be initiated too?

I guess they figure that anyone serious enough to take the time and trouble to actually write and mail a letter is serious about it.

Calls and emails are effective as well, but I don’t recall if he said they reached the same level of effectiveness by representing the same calculated number of people.
