A worker at Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming is dead after falling off a cliff, park rangers said.
Estefania Liset Mosquera Alcivar, 21, of Quito, Ecuador, was killed early Friday morning, according to the National Park Service. She was a park concession employee.
The woman was socializing with a group of co-workers at the parks Grandview Point trail when she fell over the cliff edge into the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River, the NPS said.

The border of life and death is exceedingly thin.
We know not the hour we cross it.
Why is that? Not afraid of flying either.
I got married in June 2001, but I had some commitments I could not break. So after 9/11, I flew to Tennessee to be a bridesmaid in my niece’s wedding. Then from there flew to San Diego for a seminar for four days, while we won the World Series. Arrrggg! Then flew back to AZ.
Somewhere in there I was flying out of an airport in Florida after a cruise with my husband. It was the day after the shoe bomber and the same airport. Did not bother me a bit. But if I look down into the Grand Canyon, I am shaking.
My sicere condolences
Woman falls to her death. FReepers question her citizenship. Film at 11.
Just can’t even think about it... Oh, brownies are beeping. Thank goodness!!!
Dang, I missed your post. I hate when that happens.
Half Done is such an oddball of a rock. So many climbers have climbed it and put their picks and whatever they use to climb Half Dome.
There are so many really neat places where you can sit on rocks when the water is running under you. It is such a beautiful place!
Perhaps some day you will be able to go back there just to see the magic of it all.
I am so very sorry about your cousin.
Matter of fact, yes, I had my very own Jersey dairy cow on a family friend’s farm. I slept on her back. I just thought she was on the lazy side, except when milking time came twice a day. They can move pretty quickly then. They do have a “pecking” order. LOL!
I think she’s worth saving. Who will save her?
Doesn’t Black Lives Matter pay $15 per hour from Soros’ money pot?
Thank you
The best thing you could carry would be Coca Cola, instead of alcohol, which I’ll bet was involved in a three A.M. romp on the side of a cliff.
We all think we’re indestructible when we’re young.
“I don’t know why people want to do what this young woman below is doing.”
OMG, it is making me queasy just to look at the picture. Do you think it is photoshopped? I hope so!
Yep. My friend TJ was a hardcore climber until he fell off half dome in 1990-1991. Now he’s got a chip in his head to prevent seizures and lives in a retirement home at the age of 52.
I read elsewhere that the fall occurred at 3 AM.
“Socializing” near the top of a 1000 ft. cliff in the middle of the night, presumably with alcohol involved, is definitely Darwin Awards territory.
On the rare occasion that I’m at a place like that, I lay down on my belly 10 feet back from the edge and scooch forward so just my head is over the edge and I can see down the cliff.
I don’t mind heights, but the idea of falling from them bothers me for some reason, and I’m not one to take unnecessary risks.
So what if she was here legally?
The NPS isn't, or shouldn't be, an employment agency for aliens.
Some young people were near the edge on the Natural Bridge in Virginia. Because people were walking back and forth in the center, they moved to the edge to stop and take a selfie. As they huddled their heads together, smiling and leaning back, holding the camera high, they had no idea of the danger!
God comfort her family and friends. But was she doing a job no American wanted? Asking the question makes me feel mean, but it needs asking.
