Eastern European nations happen to be the countries that are the strongest defenders of Western Christian civilization. Having lived under communism, these people can see through the communistic system of political correctness that has taken over Western Europe. My favorite country, after America, is Poland. It is a very pro-family country, that elects pro-family politicians.
Agreed: Switzerland.
(Have no idea about New Zealand.)
Regards,
Italy too.
Music...
I admire Poland also. During WWWII thousands of Poles migrated to England to join the British army and fight the Germans and later settled in England. I remember they were honest a good people and very hard workers. In my home town in the Midlands, there were so many of them that Churches had to add services in Polish and they packed them wall to wall with impeccably dressed Polish families on Sundays. Today, more than half the immigrant in England are Poles.
My second choice is Spain because towns like Barcelona are models of free speech - more so than here - and they are such happy people, notwithstanding the political problems that Spain will always have.
I am of Polish heritage, so yes, of course, Poland is my choice.
Finally got to visit there last years, albeit it was too short. But it was fantastic.
Warsaw is growing tremendously, no longer the drab, gray city that it was under Communism.
Krakow was awesome, as well.
But the part of the country I really like is the area of the Carpathian-Tatra Mountains, beautiful country there.
But any of the Visegrad Countries (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary) would work for me.
I particularly would like Bratislava, because it has all the amenities of a European Capital city, but it’s smaller, and plus, it’s only an hour away from Vienna.
You should plan a visit to New Zealand, it is magnificent.......but liberal!
Japan. Then Czech Republic.
From what I’ve witnessed, only Hungarians understand Hungarian. I can usually get by with phrase books when I travel abroad, but Hungarian is spoken nothing like it is written!
Yep, no Muslim refugees! Good food too.
My dad wanted to teach me Hungarian when I was little and I said no way. Boy what a mistake! I’d move there because they are one of the countries that has any guts to stand up to the immigrants. They also have a great air show.
Marshall Islands.
I think that the point of the headline ("What is Your Second Favorite Country - After America?") is for each respondant to state which country - after America - he would be most proud to be a citizen of. What other country has nearly the same level of freedoms?
Regards,
Espana
I understand it is quite difficult to immigrate to NZ. They are quite liberal there, but crime is low and it’s possible to own firearms. Taxes are reasonable as well.
Good list. Might add Singapore if only for the general quality of life and its position as the central hub to the rest of Asia and the Pacific Rim.
seems OK to me, lots of slavs, russians, romanians, pols, and austrians speak Hungarian pretty well
but they are proximity neighbors
norwegian would throw me for a loop, the Indian dialects would throw me for a loop.
Australia
New Zealand / Australia. I agree, kind of a toss up.
Working from the military point of view, our closest allies have always been the ABC’s.
Australia , Great Britain and Canada
Australia has beautiful land, love the accent, friendly faces, positive attitudes, and the way they treat Americans is as welcoming and with as the way we trea them.
And that alone, is truly refreshing.
