The images tell a heartbreaking story: Zika’s calamitous attack on the brains of babies — as seen from the inside.
With a macabre catalog of brain scans and ultrasound pictures, a new study details the devastation done to 45 Brazilian babies whose mothers were infected with Zika during pregnancy. The study, published Tuesday in the journal Radiology, is the most comprehensive collection of such images so far, and it reveals a virus that can launch assaults beyond microcephaly, the condition of unusually small heads that has become the sinister signature of Zika.
Most of the babies in the study were born with microcephaly, but many of them also suffered other impairments, including damage to important parts of the brain: the corpus callosum, which connects the two hemispheres of the brain; the cerebellum, which plays a significant role in movement, balance and speech; the basal ganglia, which are involved in thinking and emotion.

The images studied came from 17 babies whose mothers had a confirmed Zika infection during pregnancy and from 28 without laboratory proof but with all indications of Zika. Dr. Levine worked with colleagues in Brazil, which has had more than 1,800 cases of Zika-related microcephaly, to analyze images from the Instituto de Pesquisa in Paraiba in the northeastern part of the country. Every mom who has a baby born with a birth defect due to this virus should sue the politicians that support this unfettered immigration.

So in other words, the majority of cases could not confirm Zika as the cause, so it could be something else. Like say, agricultural toxins + degraded immune system + lack of nutritional supplementation to offset the effects during the pre-embroyotic stage?
She does a good job pointing out the lack of evidence that Zika infection is causing any birth defect.
But she then starts doing the same sort of thing against the chemical, implying it is the cause without any real evidence.
She’s kind of loony tunes with the antivax and anti-corporate lunacy.
She kind of discredits herself which is too bad because the point she makes about zero evidence for Zika causing microcephaly or any birth defects is a good point.
Interesting information. Have a family member is south Miami that is pregnant. Everyone is trying to get her to come up here (PA) till she delivers.
Good thing our government is importing it then, huh?
Years ago, I read a science article about (IIRC) Microsoft working on a device that killed mosquitoes by using lasers. The device used a ranging sensor and two lasers mounted on perpendicular walls of a room. The sensor would detect a mosquito, and would direct the two lasers so they intersected at the insect, which would then be incinerated. It could track and hit an insect within a second or two, and so could clear a room of insects in fairly short order (and keep it clear) even if a window was open.
After that one article, I never heard another thing about it. Given the lefty proclivity for exploiting rather than resolving crises, I have to wonder about the absence of further development of this device, particularly with Zika now apparently spreading into the US via mosquito vector, and malaria, dengue and other insect-borne ailments seeing spikes in recent times.

More information about Zika transmission and it's side effects are being developed, almost daily.
To answer my own question (after some googling), it looks like the license holder has decided to ignore the “area denial” application, and focus on building laser “fences” that supposedly create a barrier between a mosquito source like a pond or swamp, and a village or other population center.

It is the source for this article, as all babies had exposure to Zika and all had microcephally.
As stated in Atkissson's article, there is a statistical correlation between exposure to Zika and microcephally.
However, microcephally exists 'in the wild' ,even absent Zika, and the cause in these cases remain unknown at this time.
