About 1,500 Americans floating down a river that separates the United States from Canada had to be rescued from the water when strong rains and winds sent them illegally into Canadian territory, the country's coast guard said on Monday.

Dayum. It is our turn. Maybe we can cross illegally into Canada now and get us some benefits!
A bunch of American wetbacks.
Reminds me of one of my independent sales representavies. He would ask “What is an independent sales representative? It’s a corporate sales manager who washed up on the beach.”
Holding them for ransom? Wonder how much Obama paid for their return.
I am fine with Canada deporting these fools.
Perfectly fine with it.
Are they asking for asylum, looking for work Canadians won’t do?
I lived in Grosse Ile, MI for a number of years. Prior to 9/11, you could boat over to Windsor, Boblo Island or Amherstburg and just call a Canadian Customs from a pay phone to get an authorization number to be in Canada. That was it!
After 9/11, you had a bunch more hoops to jump through but you still don’t have to declare arrival until you have touched ground. If Canadian Coast Guard picks you up then I would imagine “no harm no foul”.
Doggone gringo wetbacks need to stay out of the Great White North!
And they probably can’t speak Canadian either.
A reminder to watch the movie NIAGARA with Marilyn Monroe.
Do they get free Tim Horton donuts?
Canada is practically the 51st (58th) state.
Having grown up in Ottawa and having spent a lot of time in the Thousand Islands. I recall that when I was in my early twenties, you could go Boldt Castle on Heart Island, and walk around the property.
Eleven years ago, I was showing my old stomping grounds to my new Alberta wife, who had not been East of Regina. We took a Thousand Islands boat cruise, which landed on Heart Island. I was very surprised that they now had a Customs checkpoint on the island. Luckily for me, at that time, only a Canadian driver’s license and birth certificate were required. Now, a Passport is required for a Canadian to travel into the US, even a 2 hour visit to a tiny island in the middle of the St. Lawrence. And all this because of muhamedan lovers like BJ Clinton, G. W. Boosh and 0.00. How depressing!
Took a fishing trip to Canada about 10 years ago...
Getting into Canada was pretty much easy peasy...
Quick check of passports and obviously a bunch of guys going fishing...all but waved us in...
Getting across the border coming back was little different...
Every passport was checked, scanned and given the once over...
eight older fat guys with fishing gear and body order...SMH
That may sound like an innocent statement but the fact is, Canadian border agents at both Windsor and the Blue Water Bridge in Sarnia are assholes and will go out of their way to harass Americans returning to the U.S. from Canada..........
Several years ago I was invited to play on a senior travel softball team in Detroit which plays against a Canadian team but I turned them down due to having either an "enhanced" drivers ID or a passport in order to get into Canada.........
So, according to Reuters, when you cross into Canada, it’s illegal. When you cross into America, it’s undocumented. Got it.
In addition, once you cross into Canadian waters, you MUST call in to a registration center to let them know what you are doing, where you are going and who is in your party.......
