A 33-year-old man was shot and killed during a robbery around midnight Saturday.
Timothy Callahan died from a gunshot wound to the upper body according to an autopsy, Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said.
The man was shot in the upper and lower body in the 1100 block of Dorrah Street, Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook said in a news release Sunday.
Several people tried to help the victim before EMS arrived. The man later died at an area hospital at 12:43 a.m.
According to witnesses, the suspect shot the man after demanding his vehicle, the news release said. After the shooting, the suspect ran from the scene.
The Columbia Police Department is investigating the incident and anyone with information should call CrimeStoppers at (888) CRIME-SC.

3. Nothing good happens within 200 feet of the Obama gas station.
All we know about the suspect is that he can run. So he probably has two legs.
Can’t get any more specific than that.
Really Obama gas? I guess in some neighborhoods one can make a lot of money if they name their gas station after zer0.
Perhaps the blade runner for South Africa.
Word is they sell more lottery tickets than any other vendor in SC.
And if you look closely they seem to focus on discount beer and cigarettes and they take EBT.
You'll be shocked to learn other witnesses described the suspect as a black man wearing dark clothing.
