Oh, and Berea appears, on paper, to be a liberal stronghold. But the voting shows otherwise. Can anyone offer an explanation ?
Get rid of McConnell.
How is your banjo skils?
You want to fit in.
Oh, also I live near Islamberg NY and I do not want any of that garbage near me.
Berea, KY, used to be a cool spot.
Some company there makes really good brooms.
Appalachian kids go to the college.
I understand Harlan county has quite the history.
I’ve heard their public pension deficit is one of the worst in the country. Right up there with Illinois.
I play Mountain Dulcimer and I’m pretty sure I can handle a jug.
The most Kentuckian instrument I can play with a mastery is a Sharps 50cal.
I grew up in NJ. I didn’t leave anything there so I don’t have to go back.
Someone on this board moved to KY from Seattle and loves it. Forget the poster’s name.
Berea is not quite Rayland’s part of the state, but enough so. See “Justified.”
Ping.
To thine own heart be true, and be prepared for the consequences.
Move to Shepherdsville KY. Just south of Louisville.
Don’t forget to check out http://www.city-data.com/forum/ if you haven’t already. Lots of insider pros and cons and questions and answers for everybody relocating.
Good luck to you. We are in CA and after mom passes we will have the chance to relocate as well.
I traveled KY in my job. Berra is not far from Lexington, a nice small city. It has a liberal arts school, Berea College, located there. Berea is not in the Appalachia portion of the state.
Kentucky is about three states in one.....eastern, central and western.
Western is more southern/Midwest. Eastern is, well, unusual. And central is quite nice.
Hey Mr. Douglas, you need to talk to this guy!
LOL. Actually Kentucky is not really the South, SOUTH anymore. It's a hybrid of Midwestern, Southern, and even Eastern influences. Indiana is more Southern than KY.
But when I was there it was damn hot and steamy.
What has 5 teeth and 4 legs?
ans: Two banjo players.
