Riding on the strong sales of its Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge smartphones, Samsung Electronics on Thursday declared 8.14 trillion won ($7billion) year on-year operating profit - 18 per cent- in the second quarter results.
....
Samsungs second-quarter smartphone shipments are estimated at about 72 million units, almost doubling Apples iPhone shipments of 40.4 million units during the same period.

Samsung is on a tear - they are taking over Asia in terms of cell phones. Never bet against a company that is responsible for
over 20% of a nation's GDP!

As long as they have to compete with international companies like Apple and numerous Japanese firms in television and Taiwanese companies for chips, and S. Korea isn't using them for economic or other regional expansionism to control other countries, I'd say it's their call. Japan is similar with Matsushita, Mitsubishi, Toshiba and Sony. In any event, they are doing a better job of it than places like England that had tried nationalizing heavy industry like steel.

Apple gives money to Hillary.
I’ll aim towards not giving money to Hillary.

It is natural for successful companies to strive for global market share. Without global trade, you would probably be living in a hut with your locally produced stone tools (assuming you have reached the stone age) and hunt locally available wild boars (assuming you have wrestled the territory from the adjacent tribe).

Off contract since January with my Galaxy S4. I love it, but will wait a bit longer to see what the Note 7 is like. I’ve been looking at the new LG because it has easily removable battery and takes micro SD cards. One of the worst phones I ever had was an LG.

Dont care.
Apple is very vocal and active this political cycle. Their CEO is choosing to make himself very visible in his support for Clinton.
Companies give money all over. Apple is one of the ones that wants to be front and center with whom they are backing.

I really love the state of the art phones that Samsung puts out there, but I’m not sure that I will ever drop 600-700 bucks for a phone again.
