Just over a week ago, as the Rules Committee was meeting prior to the Republican National Convention, the last chance for the GOPe to stop Trump came and went. The goal of the NeverTrumpers was to get Trump off the ticket, and by any means. What happened next, with Trump gone, was of no concern to them, for they feared Trump more than they feared Hillary or any other Democrat. And that is nothing new - to them the Democrats are like opponents in football, they mean well, they're just on the other side (perhaps misguided a bit politically). They are simply unable to feel threatened by Democrats. And that is nothing new. In 2008, John McCain was asked if he thought Obama would make a good president - and he literally said: "I admire Senator Obama and his accomplishments, I will respect him...". Has Senator McCain ever said the same about Trump, or even George W. Bush? I haven't found any evidence of it - and needless to say, his character judgment about Obama was TOTALLY WRONG.
And so the Rules Committee thankfully sent the NeverTrumpers packing and the convention went off very well, with only a relatively small distraction from the unhinged guy from Texas. Trump has pretty much pulled the party together for November and is now leading (slightly) in most of the polls. Of course it didn't have to end so well - since Trump being dumped off the ballot would have meant that Trump's 14 million voters would have been dumped off the November election results, and that included all of the down-ballot Republicans (something I posted on 4 different times). It was those down-ballot Republicans (Senators and House members), working behind the scenes that knew 14 million less votes in November meant a huge down-ballot wipe out.
And now the Democrats. Just when they had almost convinced the Bernie voters that the party was unbiased and was not collaborating with Hillary to shut out Bernie, and that any thoughts to that effect were delusional, bordering on paranoid - lo and behold, the WikiLeaks E-Mails come out, and just a day before the opening of the convention. The Bernie voters are madder than hell and Philadelphia better have the National Guard deployed, as that convention will not be a pretty sight and it will be very hard for the Democrats to reel-in the Bernie voters in November, very, very hard.
And so, in 10 days the Republican Party went from split to unified, and the Democrat Party went from unified to split. Unreal - but great to see.
And now to the unsung hero of the RNC, and that would be a Mr. Paul Nehlen, the man giving Paul Ryan the scare of his political life, as Mr. Ryan's primary against Mr. Nehlen is Aug. 9, 2016, just over 2 weeks from now. Had Mr. Ryan tried anything cute regarding Trump, Mr. Ryan would, for certain, be getting a one-way ticket to K-Street, to join Eric Cantor as a disgraced and rejected Republican leader (turned lobbyist). So given that Mr. Ryan's ambition makes even Francis Underwood (from House of Cards) look lethargic, Mr. Ryan was forced to run the convention in a civilized manner and that meant nominating Trump with minimal disturbances.
So we can thank two things. Mr. Nehlen, who is still in striking distance and may yet defeat Mr. Ryan in 2 weeks, and the timing of Mr. Ryan's primary - which prevented him from allowing anything cute to happen at the convention.
So thank you Wisconsin for having such a late Primary, and THANK YOU Mr. Nehlen, the UNSUNG HERO of the RNC!
Ryan needs to lose.
It is almost as if someone supernatural is affecting the events of men...

Surreal. I noticed it first when Amnesty was literally hours from passing in 2014. The only thing delaying scheduling of the House vote (and the votes were there), was Eric Cantor’s pesky Primary...and the rest was history.
And then Trump shows up, just as the GOPe was again about to give the country away to the left.
And then Mr. Ryan runs into a buzz-saw of an opponent, forcing him to fight for his political career and act like a conservative for one of the few times in his life.
And a reminder that YOU CAN’T TELL THE MAN WHO IS AN INSTRUMENT IN THE HANDS OF GOD BY HOW LOUD HE THUMPS HIS BIBLE.
Also in the DNC dump was Ted Cruz asking for $$$ from the DNC for the #nevertrump set.
I've donated to Paul N., and praying for his success !

I think there are a few constant patriots in the upper echelons of the GOP, and they have jumped on the Trump train.
I’m thinking of Rudy and Sessions here.
Maybe some others have been playing the crooked game they have to play but want, and at last see a way out in Trump. Maybe Priebus and Christie are in that group.
A much larger group simply wish this Trumpnado would blow over so they can get back to getting rich selling the rubes “conservatism” while they ship our jobs overseas and flood the domestic market with low wage illegals. They praise Trump when they have to and work against him when they can. That’s Lyin’ Ryan.
Trump didn’t win the nomination, he conducted a hostile takeover. He’s going to need to clean house, and wouldn’t it be nice if the GOP electorate would lend a hand and finally throw the “bring home the pork” bums like Ryan out?
I will add my observation on the WikiLeaks/DNC e-mail scandal. Chalk this one up as just the latest in a seemingly never ending unexpected event to bowl over the MSM, the libs and the RATS who keep chanting the meme that Trump can never win in November. What this latest exquisitely timed event reminds us is that Trump has the “Big Guy” on his side and that’s all that really matters.
I hope that Nylian knocks the crap out of Ryan...send him down the river without a paddle...
This has been one of the best elections ever...my neighbor and I was talking...I remember my Grandmother saying: “I wished they would let us know who won the Election” back in them days, it was paper ballot and had to be counted by hand, I think now that would be the best honest way to do it...
Trump is my guy, has been from day one and I know he will be our next POTUS...It’s all in God’s time, not ours...

LOL - My imagination ran a bit wild with me earlier, where it repeatedly inserted a single word that was needed to keep me from being locked up. I didn’t include the word...so I got the post pulled - not good, in any case.

Are you referring to the Cruz fundraising e-mail that the Dems had an at least third-hand copy of in their files? Or did you see something else?

iirc, it was posted here on FR that the same computer consultant that set up hildabeasts home server also set up the DNC.
So if they hacked the DNC you can bet they hacked into the hildabeast’s server.
If they could get into hildabeasts server, they could be able to go in to state dept.
Hildabeast still has 30,000 emails out there somewhere that we haven’t seen yet.
This could be the stake in the heart of her campaign
