Ted Cruz must have a strategy of dividing the Republican Party (with full support of the Republican Oligarchs behind the scenes) to make sure Hillary wins because of the division. Somehow they are determining that Trump is not going to run again in 2020 and Cruz will then seek the nomination.
With the absolute mess that Hillary will make, Cruz will be seen as the only solution by the conservative side. Good strategy, but not good for the country.
Hillary wins they will make sure no R will be in that WH for generations.
I voted for Cruz. He chose Jeff Roe. He allowed surrogates to start the nastiness between them. I told everyone six months earlier that hiring Roe was a bad mistake.
Last night he had the room in his hands. He could have been the bigger man and erased hard feelings against himself and against Trump to help insure a Democrat defeat. He chose not to be the long term thinker and in petulance killed his career. Hardly Russell Kirk who wrote the Politics of Prudence centered around the “art of the possible.”

Either of those goals are far in the future — how about insuring Hillary’s defeat in November?
Cruz is not that popular or powerful.
He's certainty not powerful nor popular, but it doesn't take much in razor-thin battleground states.
What about the Supreme Court nominees that Hillary will nominate? 2020 will be to late. Cruz needs to worry about 2018.

Cruz was booed in part because he was leading us by the content of his speech into concluding that Trump would be endorsed by him.

All the Texans I have spoken to don’t take kindly to not pickin up a gun and join the fight when the indians have you surrounded.
Principles are fine but don’t win elections, if your looking for the PERFECT candidate you will never find them and never win an election.

Perry is liked and has name recognition. IMO, best chance to GET CRUZ OUT.
If it’s Cruz vs The Former Twelfth Lady in ‘20 I will,for the first time in my life,stay home. Although I voted for him in the primary Cruz is now dead to me.
I wouldn’t vote for that little $hit Cruz for men’s room attendant.
Cruz will probably off himself when Trump wins this November. No loss.
It’s an insane strategy because if the next 4 are like the last 8 CONSERVATIVE will be as ancient and as relevant as the word Groovy!
