FR brothers and sisters, this thread is for all the Ted Cruz supporters.
I'm a proud Texan, and ashamed of Ted Cruz. I am supporting the Trump / Pence ticket all the way. This experiment in a republic form of government with limited federal controls will not survive a Hillary presidency. I believe in my heart that Trump will be a transformational president. The good he'll do will outlive his Trump Towers.
As for Ted, I don't think he'll win another election here in the great state of Texas. That being said, there are FReepers who still support Ted. I'd like to hear from you. Why are you still defending or supporting Ted? What about this man and his behavior still draws your support for him at the cost of our republic. Because, that's what at stake in this election.

I have always been nevercruz and a trump supporter (I posted why months ago), but your points are valid and I suspect are very common among Cruz supporters (or now former Cruz supporters).
If Cruz was involved with the PACs supporting him, prosecute him, likewise for all the candidates!
Donald Trump's own hands and mouth were involved in the retweeting and question answering during the wives and Oswald dramas. It may be semantics to many, apparently not for Senator Cruz.
As for the subject of the thread, begrudgingly voting for Trump/Pence, so more AntiHillary than pro anyone I suppose.
Unlike most rabid Cruz supporters I can look at all candidates honestly and see the good and bad in them....which is why I support Trump.
I need to watch the speech for my own edification to come to a personal conclusion, I’m just reluctant to do so.
i’m here, I voted for Ted in the NH primary.
Ted is great in the Senate. One of the few who would make a stand against the rubber stamping of what ever Obama wanted. I’ve liked him since he went to DC.
I guess he took great offense at Trumps personal attackes and will not just smile and say “whatever”.
If he looses in 2018 during reelection it will be sad and a great loss.
If Trump wins in Nov. I sure hope he does what he says otherwise i can see the FR world turn on him like the did on Cruz.
I don’t have TV so i don’t know what he said, but a man has a right to his opinion and we should’nt be crapping all over him like this.
His vote will be needed in the next few years.
All of my pro-Cruz friends texted and/or emailed me last night after Cruz was being loudly booed off the stage. All said they were very angry at Cruz, and now consider him TOXIC. Stick a fork in him... He’s done!

I was all in for Ted...Gave him money and supported him...He lost and Trump won...IMHO Ted should have endorsed...Missed opportunity to unite to defeat hildabeast...I’m behind Trump now 100%...HRC absolutely must be defeated, and that’s the priority...For the future, memories are short and time will tell...
I have not posted anything to cut Cruz down. But I live in Texas, I expected him to lay aside his personal ambition and endorse Trump for the good of the country. He chose not to so I will choose to not support Cruz in future Texas senate elections and I believe he will be replaced in two years. Something this big will be brought back up at his re-election bid. Trump must be elected to have any prayer of this country turning around.

In regard to assault, there were some who felt gang attacked on this website; as a result, using their "free agency", they chose to relocate elsewhere, to voice their opinions.
True, there was no physical assault, it was all verbal, by a self-described gang of intolerance, encouraged by a website administration who chose to support one specific candidate.
"..assuming we’re discussing reciprocal and symmetric give and take .."- my understnading is that it was described as a "take this and shove it", or move on
and they chose to move on.
One alternative website referred to them as "Freeper Refugees", and carried that banner for some three weeks, or there abouts.
I occasionally lurk there and have identified,on ocassion at least 15-20 contributors there who used to post on Free Republic.
Many of them , formerly monthly contributors to Free Republic.
Lastly, my claim that this site has “historically room for all” should have been qualified by the term of "True Conservatives", and not include
an election motivated "Conservative" like Paul Ryan ( who is conservative during re-election).

the fake Cruz supporter trolls have long since been banned, and the vast majority of legitimate former Cruz supporters at FR have long since issued many mea culpas here, with MANY completely repudiating Cruz and his nastiness.
Embarrassed & angry. My husband & I supported Cruz throughout the primaries because he was the most conservative candidate of all choices. Donald won & we will energetically support him over Hillary & the rest of the commies ANY DAY OF THE WEEK!!! Teds behavior last night really destroyed my view of him. I was apalled & embarrassed. More than anything- I was just mad! :/
