Mass movements—whether those of Mohammed, the progressives or John Ankerberg—are fueled by the feelings of frustration of their adherents. The goal of Buddhism is to extinguish (nirvana) these feelings of frustration or unsatisfactoriness (dukkha). Thus Buddhism, when practiced properly, immunizes people from the feelings that drive them toward mass movements. It is not surprizing that Muslims, communists and John Ankerberg oppose Buddhism.

I’ve brought this up to liberals who say terrorism is due to Western aggression. Islam killed 100 million Hindus and Buddhists before the West was even a world power.
