Anheuser-Busch InBev, which will soon make almost 30% of the worlds beer, wants to serve more low and alcohol-free brews to drinkers trying to live a healthier lifestyle.
The Belgium-based brewer, on the verge of buying its largest rival SABMiller, has forecast lower and zero strength beer will grow from a small base to make up 20% of its sales by the end of 2025.

Betting big on ‘weak beer’?.......................Like what have they been selling all these years?......................
Germans didn’t invent beer. THEY PERFECTED IT!.................................
Near Beer to make it to the Big Time.
Budweiser brewery: six bottles, a horse, and a funnel.
I didn’t think you could make Budweiser any worse than it already is. I guess they’re out to prove me wrong.
AB tried to go after Shiner Bock a while back with their Zeigenbock. Not even close.
Why not, because the L.A. (LOW ALCOHOL) Beer was such a hit for Budweiser backb in the 80’s
Low alcohol ‘small beer’ was a common way of insuring something safe to drink in the era before chlorinated city water.
It was very popular in Colonial America and goes back to Medieval Europe, if not earlier.
Can you recommend any good nonalcoholic beers? Every mass-market one I’ve tried tastes like dishwater. Perhaps some microbrewery somewhere makes a decent one. Or perhaps such a thing is just not possible.
Anyway, are there any NA’s that are at least better than the rest?
It’s Tylenol you should avoid with alcohol. There are even warnings on the label pertaining to mixing alcohol and acetaminophen.
Some say avoid acetaminophen completely due to potentially harmful affects to your liver.
Acetaminophen has NO affect on me at all as for relieving pain. Zilch!
I was about to comment but you took the words right off of my keyboard. When your piss comes out darker than the beer you drank a half hour ago something is wrong (with the beer).
Germans used to tell me this. Having lived for a few years in Belgium I’d just smile.
I don’t care much for the double hopped western European beers, too bitter................
You didn't think all those Clydesdales were just for show, did you?
AB-Ibev produces ersatz craft beer under the Shock Top and Goose Island labels. Goose Island is tolerable, but Shock Top is IMHO mass produced swill. There are at least a dozen small craft brewers in my area some producing some outstanding products. Also live close to the second oldest brewer in the US, Schells Brewing in New Ulm, MN.
"Can you recommend any good nonalcoholic beers?
Unfortunately, not really. Alcohol at some level is an important component of the balanced taste of a beer. Session beers have very low alcohol content, generally below 4%. Session beers can have loads of flavor by using roasted malts and balanced hops. Many are served by a beer engine or nitro taps, which give them a smooth character that makes them even more appealing.
I haven't found a single example yet of a non-alcoholic beer that does it for me. Not even close.
Zero strength beer?
You could just drink horse piss, it would be the same.
