HEY, now that’s really cool!

There’s just no substitute for the sound of those big radial engines.

The Collings foundation brings their birds out here to Buchanan Field [CCR] once in awhile, and I’ve enjoyed climbing around in them; it’s like climbing into history itself. But that B-29 is something else, again.

Thanks for sharing!

There are now two B-29's that are flying. The other one has been in the air for a while. (FIFI) This is in addition to the reported ten airworthy B-17's and two B-24's in the US.

There are several EweToob videos on DOC - this one is sort of a historical synopsis.. History 1st and 2nd flight

There aren't many left considering how many were made during WWII. List of surviving Boeing B-29 Superfortresses

Moose07 has one on his side of the pond stuffed and mounted.. Imperial War Museum Duxford

There is an annual air show south of us in Sussex, NJ and they have had a B17 land there on several occasions. Don't know how much runway a B29 would need - Sussex Airport isn't all that big (3500 foot runway).. ;-)
