New Dwarf Planet Discovered Far Beyond Pluto's Orbit

Pluto isn't quite as lonely as scientists had thought.
Astronomers have discovered another dwarf planet in the Kuiper Belt, the ring of icy objects beyond Neptune. But this newfound world, dubbed 2015 RR245, is much more distant than Pluto, orbiting the sun once every 700 Earth years, scientists said. (Pluto completes one lap around the sun every 248 Earth years.)
"The icy worlds beyond Neptune trace how the giant planets formed and then moved out from the sun," discovery team member Michele Bannister, of the University of Victoria in British Columbia, said in a statement. "They let us piece together the history of our solar system."
...
The exact size of 2015 RR245 is not yet known, but the researchers think it's about 435 miles (700 kilometers) wide. Pluto is the largest resident of the Kuiper Belt, with a diameter of 1,474 miles (2,371 km).
The research team first spotted 2015 RR245 in February of this year, while poring over images that the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope in Hawaii took in September 2015 as part of the ongoing Outer Solar System Origins Survey (OSSOS).
"There it was on the screen this dot of light moving so slowly that it had to be at least twice as far as Neptune from the sun," Bannister said.

God, indeed, has a sense of humor, but it doesn't apply to His making of humans. As stated in several places in the Old and New Testaments, God made us in His Image. And He didn't specify "spirit" image. So I take it to mean exactly "His image." To an extent, I agree with you:
In His Image
Our god is not a dolphin,
Who listens for a call,
Of vocal tears, and patient years,
And distant voices all,
Our god is not a dweller,
In oceans far from lands,
To make us in His image,
He had to give us hands.
Our god is not an eagle,
In tumbled vaults He soars,
Who hears our laments drifting up,
Like lowing herbivores,
Who travels in a lonely state,
And views all He commands,
To make us in His image,
He had to give us hands.
Our god is not a crocodile,
Who knows He will be fed,
Who patiently appoints Himself,
Along the river bed,
Not He a god that slithers,
And awkwardly, He stands,
To make us in His image,
He had to give us hands.
Our god is not an alien,
In silent ship above,
A being without linking,
Or likingness, or love,
Our god is not a bearded one,
Who dwells in far-off lands,
To make us in His image,
He had to give us hands.

Happy New Year to you, LoM! Mr. Bill is running just fine, these days, and is quite the reliable piece of machinery. I have no doubt that there will be replacement of original parts in the future, but for now, he gets me where I want to be! I thank you for that gift every time I get behind the wheel! *hugs*

I wish I had the ability to catnap like that. My punishment for sleeping well night before last was to not sleep well last night. So here I am at 0300.
I’m going to change things up, around my house, and work my schedule a little differently to benefit my cute little self.
No reason. Just that I can. *wink*

This kitten - and his brother next to him - is napping in a warm climate. I am thinking of a warm climate. My FRiend rrrod is in Colombia now.

I’m in a warm climate, but unlike rrrod, I don’t have to deal with the humidity of a jungle state. Except in winter, but then it’s really cold!
Just got back from Walgreen’s with an armload of drugs. Seriesly. Two hugh bags and a smaller one with the steroid. The poor pharmacist had to work Christmas Day, and was venting to me. She got time and a half, but the taxes took most of it. And a drive-thru customer didn’t like her “Happy Holidays” and turned her in, threatening to post it all on YouTube. Poor fluffy.
Now, I need to go have a breathing treatment!

Everyone gets in a fuss so easily these days.
I’m going to clean some things now, in between trips upstairs to be loud and annoying toward those who are lurking in bed. Bill the Son took off before sunrise for the gym, in an astonishing burst of gumption.

I think the guy was just ticked off at something (or someone) else and took it out on the pharmacist, which happens a lot, here. Lots of entitled foreigners in a sanctuary county makes for lots of rudeness.
Wow. Bill the Son? Up and out to the gym? Is he ill? Oh. Wait. New Year’s Revolution, right?

I don’t know what has happened to Bill (except that, with Tom home, hanging around his room is suddenly less appealing). However, I’m thrilled that he’s voluntarily doing daytime-hours activities.

That’s a good thing, then. I like daytime-hours activities, mostly because the UT is actually dead at nighttime-hours.
