Pluto isn't quite as lonely as scientists had thought.
Astronomers have discovered another dwarf planet in the Kuiper Belt, the ring of icy objects beyond Neptune. But this newfound world, dubbed 2015 RR245, is much more distant than Pluto, orbiting the sun once every 700 Earth years, scientists said. (Pluto completes one lap around the sun every 248 Earth years.)
"The icy worlds beyond Neptune trace how the giant planets formed and then moved out from the sun," discovery team member Michele Bannister, of the University of Victoria in British Columbia, said in a statement. "They let us piece together the history of our solar system."
...
The exact size of 2015 RR245 is not yet known, but the researchers think it's about 435 miles (700 kilometers) wide. Pluto is the largest resident of the Kuiper Belt, with a diameter of 1,474 miles (2,371 km).
The research team first spotted 2015 RR245 in February of this year, while poring over images that the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope in Hawaii took in September 2015 as part of the ongoing Outer Solar System Origins Survey (OSSOS).
"There it was on the screen this dot of light moving so slowly that it had to be at least twice as far as Neptune from the sun," Bannister said.

I've got a poem for this ...
One Tin Whisker
Listen children to a story that was written long ago,
'bout electronics we depend on and the way it changed us so.
In the magic was a treasure buried deep within the board,
no one now can tell the reason it was all we could afford.
Go ahead and beat your neighbor, get ahead of him in the game.So the people paid their money, to send up a bird to fly,
Any way that you can do it, for you know that youre not the same.
There won't be any trumpets blowin' come the judgment day
on the bloody morning after one tin whisker gets its way.
singing songs for all to listen, from a voice up in the sky.
All was peaceful in the kingdom: "With our brothers we will share,
our electronics is perfected, no one needs to have a care."
Go ahead and beat your neighbor, get ahead of him in the game. Now the greenies cried with anger; youve made poison, we will die,
Any way that you can do it, for you know that youre not the same.
There won't be any trumpets blowin' come the judgment day
on the bloody morning after one tin whisker gets its way.
and they killed the mounting programs, kept them from the common sky.
Then they rose in righteous anger, eviscerating protocols,
stormed the bulwarks of the castle, now they own the magic halls.
Go ahead and beat your neighbor, get ahead of him in the game.
Any way that you can do it, for you know that youre not the same.
There won't be any trumpets blowin' come the judgment day
on the bloody morning after one tin whisker gets its way.

I slept until 0445... *gasp* My day is half gone before I even got out of bed! Ohnoes!
4444!
Did you mean e=mc2+p2c4, or e=mc2+p2*c4, or e=mc2+p2c4?
YES! Morning, Nully!
Hey! I used to know what that was and what it did, but since Igor passed in 2000, I don’t have any electronical wizard to remind me of what gazinta and what gazouta. ;o]
Howdy Face,
That there thingamabob is easiest described as a one way valve.
Of sorts.
Useful for filling up an electron bucket.
Beats a full house...
(I knew that!)
