Pluto isn't quite as lonely as scientists had thought.
Astronomers have discovered another dwarf planet in the Kuiper Belt, the ring of icy objects beyond Neptune. But this newfound world, dubbed 2015 RR245, is much more distant than Pluto, orbiting the sun once every 700 Earth years, scientists said. (Pluto completes one lap around the sun every 248 Earth years.)
"The icy worlds beyond Neptune trace how the giant planets formed and then moved out from the sun," discovery team member Michele Bannister, of the University of Victoria in British Columbia, said in a statement. "They let us piece together the history of our solar system."

The exact size of 2015 RR245 is not yet known, but the researchers think it's about 435 miles (700 kilometers) wide. Pluto is the largest resident of the Kuiper Belt, with a diameter of 1,474 miles (2,371 km).
The research team first spotted 2015 RR245 in February of this year, while poring over images that the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope in Hawaii took in September 2015 as part of the ongoing Outer Solar System Origins Survey (OSSOS).
"There it was on the screen this dot of light moving so slowly that it had to be at least twice as far as Neptune from the sun," Bannister said.

Our forecast is high 80/high 60s all week. Blah.
Carolina Waterfowl Rescue smells pretty bad!
I’m thinking Elen has a lot of intestinal fortitude to endure that. Either that or she loves critters. Or maybe both.
She definitely loves animals. However, I also think she doesn’t have all that much sense of smell.
Well, the latter is definitely a plus when working around lots of animals.
And I’ve even mucked out horse stalls. Of course, that was when I was younger and shorter. ;o]
Horse manure, being just decomposed grass, is not very smelly compared to bird and reptile droppings.
And that’s the truth! In Tucson, the animal shelter has a section for fowl of every kind, and in order to get to the front door, one has to walk past that enclosure. There is no other way. And it’s hard to hold one’s breath!
Zeke was actually at the clubhouse when I went in to unlock (he wakes up almost as early as I do) and I told him about the get together; he said he was “see about” contributing. I don’t know what that means, but it doesn’t sound good.
This time of month, most of us are pretty short on funds. And some of us don’t get an awful lot to begin with. So the rent can go from zero dollars to the maximum flat rent of $450.
Check your account. My arms hurt a little this morning - both, not just the right one. It must be from yoga yesterday.
Ouch! Try some of that leg gel. That stuff is pretty darn good.
And thanks!

HI!
Hello! *hug*
Thanks for the concern. Nowhere near. I live near 90th Street. We didn’t even hear anything.
The toe thing isn’t gout, I had my Muriatic acid checked and the ph is fine. It happens when I dig in the garden bare footed. I that’s the wrong name it’s close.

But this garden toad event needs to be addressed.
Don't look at me., Wasn't even there. Playing penny ante poker with the dogs.
If you are digging in the garden, barefoot, you may be using muscles in your feet that you are not used to using.
I wear my steel-toed, waterproof yardwork boots to dig in the garden. My toes aren’t all that, but I’d rather have them than not.
I wear my 9” work boots. Waterproof and provide stability to my not-as-young-as-yesterday ankles..
