Pluto isn't quite as lonely as scientists had thought.
Astronomers have discovered another dwarf planet in the Kuiper Belt, the ring of icy objects beyond Neptune. But this newfound world, dubbed 2015 RR245, is much more distant than Pluto, orbiting the sun once every 700 Earth years, scientists said. (Pluto completes one lap around the sun every 248 Earth years.)
"The icy worlds beyond Neptune trace how the giant planets formed and then moved out from the sun," discovery team member Michele Bannister, of the University of Victoria in British Columbia, said in a statement. "They let us piece together the history of our solar system."

The exact size of 2015 RR245 is not yet known, but the researchers think it's about 435 miles (700 kilometers) wide. Pluto is the largest resident of the Kuiper Belt, with a diameter of 1,474 miles (2,371 km).
The research team first spotted 2015 RR245 in February of this year, while poring over images that the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope in Hawaii took in September 2015 as part of the ongoing Outer Solar System Origins Survey (OSSOS).
"There it was on the screen this dot of light moving so slowly that it had to be at least twice as far as Neptune from the sun," Bannister said.

I should have known better. I watch those home repair shows. I know that any time you open something up you always find more work. But did I pay any attention? No. Just pull the old stuff up and lay the new down, I said.
It will be easy, (I didn't say that but I did think it).
By Jove, I think he's nailed it!
You are moving to St George Island?
Yes, it was rather long, in the grand scheme of things, but I was very glad to get home.
Now I need to find someone who can take me to the epidural appointment. I will ask Zeke, first, and try someone from the church if he can’t. He’s usually pretty good to people he likes.
If it were any later, I would head for the warmth of my bed, but it’s far too soon, she sez.
And the itching never stops...
Kathleen is having a difficult day, too. It would be nice if she would stop screaming.
Haha! May as well be! St George Utah. I have family there and I’m getting too old to deal with the B-S in Vegas.
I think I’ve seen enough of my dad’s and my brother’s attempts at “renovating” to understand that nothing is ever as cut and dried as it seems.
In the meantime, I will keep you in my prayers so you have stamina and insight to face any problems. It’s the best I can offer. :o]
Ohno...not the screaming thingys. Why do girl children do that? (Rhetorical question!)
I can’t ever remember screaming to get my way or make myself heard. No...I just held my breath until I turned blue. But my mother had the cure for that: A cold water bath in the winter, in Alaska. ;o] Shocking results!
I told my girls they looked particularly good in blue and they should stay that way.
Haha! My mother was just a bit more stubborn than I was, and a whole heckuva lot smarter when I was 11 months old!
She was always ill, but she managed to bring seven of us into the world and teach us the right ways to grow up.
She didn’t have her nap.
LOL! We've tried that, too.
The triumph of hope over your better judgment.
True!
Been there, done that; so many times you'd have thought I'd learn better by now.
Evening, Bob. I’m thinking about a shower.
One of the odd proofs that sometimes thinking about a thing can cause it to manifest itself.
Nope, it didn’t work out: the rest of the family came home.
And yet, if you could just properly and intensely focus on and visualize the tiles, the grout between the tiles, the design of the faucets, and all the other parameters, especially if you enlisted the help of a certain DP, you have the mental and emotional power to manifest a shower.
I’d put money on it.
Just to let you all know, my toe hurts!
