Pluto isn't quite as lonely as scientists had thought.
Astronomers have discovered another dwarf planet in the Kuiper Belt, the ring of icy objects beyond Neptune. But this newfound world, dubbed 2015 RR245, is much more distant than Pluto, orbiting the sun once every 700 Earth years, scientists said. (Pluto completes one lap around the sun every 248 Earth years.)
"The icy worlds beyond Neptune trace how the giant planets formed and then moved out from the sun," discovery team member Michele Bannister, of the University of Victoria in British Columbia, said in a statement. "They let us piece together the history of our solar system."

The exact size of 2015 RR245 is not yet known, but the researchers think it's about 435 miles (700 kilometers) wide. Pluto is the largest resident of the Kuiper Belt, with a diameter of 1,474 miles (2,371 km).
The research team first spotted 2015 RR245 in February of this year, while poring over images that the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope in Hawaii took in September 2015 as part of the ongoing Outer Solar System Origins Survey (OSSOS).
"There it was on the screen — this dot of light moving so slowly that it had to be at least twice as far as Neptune from the sun," Bannister said.

I’ve decided that as long as I’m sitting here for a good part of the day, I’ll be productive and write in my journal. I used to do it all the time, but it seems to go in leaps and spurts, and then I put it away for a while. I have a banker’s box with journals in it, and have decided that when I run out of things to do (ha-ha) I will either scan them or use the Dragon Software and dictate them into the slave.
It would be nice if I could get it done before the move (another ha-ha) but that’s not likely. But there is a lot I need to catch up on in the Journal, but I’ve already written two pages so far, and didn’t feel like writing any more.
I also got the dishes done. YAY!
The Epic Fail Latino Lawn Service is here again, but they may have to hire another person or get a larger riding mower, as it’s taking them almost seven hours to take care of this place — mowing and edging. Period.
So, being productive means making more work for yourself - writing journal entries that you’ll need to scan later?

Too bad it doesn’t still look like that. Ten lanes wide with emergency lanes on either side, bumper-to-bumper cars in each direction... My first time over that in the daylight, it was two lanes, and it really wasn’t that long ago.
If I had hand written journals the effort to put them into another medium would be described as “deciphering” and I’m not sure anyone could do that.
Horrible doesn’t begin to describe my handwriting.
It’s mine and I like it. And it’s not deciphering, it’s reading. So it’s OK! Honest!

I just tried to find out what I need to know about vehicle registration in Utah, and the website is very confusing! I emailed a query, so hopefully, I’ll get a response before January!
I’m tired. And for some reason, a little on the cranky side, and I think maybe it’s the weather. I’m going to take some pills, then have a breathing treatment and then work on my personal history.
Nap accomplished. I feel like a zombie now, but I’m having a diet cola. Then I’ll sort school supplies while doing language flash cards with Pat. I was doing awful yesterday with the genitive and dative cases in Greek.
I think in Utah the only thing you need to register your vehicle is to verify the engine has been properly neutered.
If it’s a mule, it’s easy.

I had the breathing treatment, then went in to take my noon pills, only to learn I hadn’t taken the morning pills. *sigh*
My ulcers are bothering me, and that means I’m grazing again to stop the pain, and of course, the end result will be the addition of a few more pounds. I can’t get to St George soon enough. :o[
Tomorrow morning, around 0900, I will head for the bank and get some quarters. What a pain in the backside that is.
While I was doing all that cleaning and sorting yesterday, I managed to stress my little finger and today it is swollen. I usually bandage it at night to help with the swelling, but it wasn’t enough. And I will need to buy another roll of that excellent tape that Mike-The-Pharmacist told me about. It’s called Nex-Care and it’s expensive by Walmart standards — $3.79, and almost twice that at Walgreens. But it works, so I will continue to buy it until my finger doesn’t swell any more.
I think you must be right. But from what I can see of the DMV website, the entire process of registering a vehicle has become more complicated. *sheesh* I was so flabbergasted, I didn’t even check the cost of a license. My brems!!
