She did say this: I hope my numbers are as good as yours when I’m your age!
Yep. Like that. I’m in pretty good shape for the shape I’m in!
It would be so nice to spend some time in that atmosphere, no hurrying. I see the cool green shade and think what a stark contrast that is to where I live. :o]
That is a vicious looking kitty.
A yorkie of mine passed the other day. Is almost 17 years old good for a yorkie?
I HATE air travel.
I love flying, but I’ve gotten so tired of the circus at the airport. You’re probably getting there at 4:30 for a 7:00 flight or some-such.
It’s become such a pain.
Don’t feel too bad. 8 kids in a Walmart would cause anyone to have a complete lapse of mental functioning.
They serve tea at Walmart???
They serve tea at Walmart???
Very sorry about your Yorkie. Yes, 17 is quite old for any breed of dog!
I don’t know. I haven’t been to Walmart today.
Yes, and that’s OK, but I’ve lived there all I want to!
There has to be more fun we can have with the classics. I haven’t seen “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” but I think it’s a great idea.
How about “Draclua in Vermont” and he goes around sucking everyone’s maple syrup?
I humbly offer you: Hansel And Gretel - Witch Hunters. It's, uh...it's pretty traditional. Except for the semi-automatic crossbow and stuff...
I read “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” and “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.” I liked them both, and the latter took on some worthwhile themes. I saw part of the Lincoln movie (not my thing), but I haven’t seen the other. Maybe the library has it by now.
“I dream of structure. Maybe someday, when the first six have graduated ...”
Structure? You mean like a high dive platform?
You teach the kid about it...
As you climb with them...
One rung at a time...
A, B, C, 1, 2, 3...
Add, subtract, multiply, divide...
From the Fertile Crescent, to Rome, to Reformation...
To Revolution, to Reconstruction, to Revelation...
To orbit, to the Moon, to the outer planets...
To infinity and beyond...
From the nursery to the ballfield to the DMV...
Tell them how you did it “back in the day”...
Tell them how it felt...
What worked, what almost worked, what totally didn’t work...
The view from the ledge...
The Moment Of Truth...
At last they step out onto the platform...
You walk them to the edge...
And...and...and...
Weeelll, to be quite honest, ya can’t just leave ‘em out there with the breeze whistling through their heads...
They either leap on their own, or you shock the crap out of them with a solid boot in the butt.
That is, if you want them to make a splash...
Our S1 talks long, has heap big plans to go “SPLASH!”
And...
I’m rummaging in the closet for my boots....
Our version of The Book Lady lives several miles away, and we were the recipients of her excess when she downsized her library. We took in something like 1000 volumes, or so it seemed.
Last week we heard from her; her mother has passed away and we are the only ones she knows to whom she feels comfortable passing on that library. NO idea how many volumes that amounts to, but...away we go!
I like to point out that Anoreth made a giant leap as soon as she turned 18, and now she has an independent life with her own apartment, dog, car, the whole shebang. I don’t tell her what to wear, what to eat, when to get up in the morning, to, Turn that off: we’re paying for the electricity!” ... nuttin’.
However, none of the younger siblings had yet decided it’s worth it.
Oh, wow. We always take trades to The Book Lady, because we have a fixed amount of shelf space. I also got the travel narrative of Cabeza de Vaca, one of the early explorers of Texas.
Oh great. Now I have envy!
