Hope you enjoy. You Make Loving Fun
music *ping*
Can’t listen to fleetwood anymore because of the klinton’s, that’s how much i hate bill and hillary.
So, you Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow?
The irony of this song is that Christine was in the process of breaking up with husband John McVie at the time. The song was written as a love note to her new lover, who also toured with the band as a techie. Combined with Lindsey Buckingham’s breakup with Stevie Nicks, it was a miracle that this album was ever made.
Sweet, wonderful you!
God I really hate that song now, the communist march.
I didn’t know the difference between Fleetwood Mac and a Big Mac but I can remember Casey Kasem saying for the umpteenth week in a row the number #1 album is Rumors by Fleetwood Mac
Christie left John Mc Vie because he was having an affair with Stevie. Jenny Boyd (Patty's sister) left Mick Fleetwood because he was having an affair with Stevie too.
Patty Boyd was George Harrison's wife. Eric Clapton fell in love with Patty when he was teaching George how to play "While My Guitar Gently Weeps".
Eric's song Layla was about Patty. Patty left George and eventually married Eric.
What a tangled web.
Yes, she was. A little known fact is that she was thinking about me when recording “Over My Head”. :-P
Can't argue with you on that point, although they were still a great band. I was lucky enough to see them 3 times in their earlier incarnation with Danny Kirwan and Bob Welch. In fact, I got to see them twice in one night at the Fox Theater in Long Beach,CA. What a night!
I shake my head thinking about it all.
Purty ‘lil thang couldn’t keep her legs closed to save her life.
Ironically Stevie told in an interview that Mick and John were all for she and Lindsey joining the band.
They had to have a special meeting with Christine before Stevie was hired.
Christine had veto power where additional female band members were concerned.
I heard somewhere that Christine is performing with FM at some shows.
Just a rumor AFAIK.

True. It certainly was. But that is probably what also made the Rumours such a great album. All that angst - the breakups, the new relationships, two couples in the midst of breaking up, sometimes barely on speaking terms with each other, but still writing songs and recording together - all that made for some great song writing and performances.
My favorite Christine McVie song from Rumours is Song Bird:

Most of us would never have heard of Fleetwood Mac if Lindsey Buchannan and Stevie Nicks hadn't joined the group.
People tend to forget that Fleetwood Mac existed and had success before Buckingham and Nicks joined, although that incarnation was by far the most successful in terms of popular success.
Fleetwood Mac was a very successful blues rock/prog band in their early years and many do not realize that the song Black Magic Woman, the song best known from the Santana version, was originally a Fleetwood Mac composition.
Fleetwood Mac Peter Green - Black Magic Woman (Live Boston Tea Party) 1970
Then there was Oh Well, a song that was from Fleetwood Macs early years but often performed in concert by the band during the Lindsey Buckingham years. FLEETWOOD MAC Oh Well 1969

Christine Perfect as she was known before her marriage to John McVie was a fairly well known blues artist along with her band Chicken Shack, not so much in the US but had great success in the UK.
Chicken Shack - When The Train Comes Back + Hey Baby - 1968 45rpm
CHRISTINE PERFECT - i'd rather go blind
Two of my favorite post Peter Green and pre-Buckingham-Nicks Fleetwood Mac albums are Bare Trees and IMO the often underrated Mystery To Me the Bob Welch years. Bob Welch would later have a solo career and would re-record the track Sentimental Lady from Bare Trees on his solo album.
My favorite song from those years was Christine McVies Why:
OK...but she got over you and then it was *me* who she wanted to come a little bit closer! ;-)
Thanks.
