Democrats in the blogosphere and the news media, after breathing a sigh of relief at the non-indictment, are expressing consternation at what they see as extensive editorializing by James Comey in the Press Statement prior to reaching his conclusion of a non-referral for prosecution.
After they have had a chance to ponder over the extensive comments by Comey describing the recklessness of Clinton's actions, and the potential treasure trove of quote-worthy damnations against Clinton, they are wondering if it was appropriate for him to indulge in editorializing her actions if he was not going to recommend prosecutorial actions.
See for example Ruth Marcus's (WP Editorial Board) article on this issue today:

There is a creeping recognition that this might be a pyrrhic victory for Clinton, and the damage done by Comey's comments may be long-lasting.
It wasn’t editorializing, it was stating the facts of the case.

Oh Lord, make it so.
The phrase, “Damned by faint praise” comes to mind.
They simply don’t want to hear the truth, nor do they want others to hear it.
Tells you everything you need to know about Clinton supporters.
There were emails between Clinton and Obama in all that and that is also why no charges were made.
First black President also charged with crimes not happening IMO.
“It wasnt editorializing, it was stating the facts of the case.”
Your forgot to add “then completely ignoring the facts to make a political decision”
“OH BOY IS THIS GREAT!!!!”
I dont know where to begin with commercial ads :)
Well its flat out true - he gave all these reasons why she should be indicted, and then concluded that he wouldn’t recommend indictment.
It was completely bizarre. He didn’t even try to lie, or justify himself. In fact, he went the other direction and openly contradicted himself.
If he was a weatherman, it would be like he said it was cloudy and cold and windy and the barometer was dropping and so it would be a sunny day.
Utterly, completely bizarre.
I understand what Comey did, this was an insider’s version of “I’ll show them” then you make a meaningless gesture meant to embarrass Hillary. Of course you can’t embarrass that cow.
Baloney, they are not mad at Comey at all. He will get his $250,000 speeches in a few months

That’s interesting. I wonder if BC told LL that HRC’s ultimate defense would be, Obama knew about my email arrangement and said nothing, giving me permission to continue.
He followed his marching orders.
He had to be used for political cover after Lynch wasn’t going to cut it.
Comey knew they would not do anything in th
e DOJ or Obama would pardon her...so he got out in front of it and gave Trump a huge hammer to bang away at her by his televised comments....sometimes we have to do what we can do...and he did ...fine job in my opinion...
I wondered if it would take a full day for this shoe to drop.
It might be sinking in that Comey’s statement ended any chance of Hillary gaining a majority of Bernie’s supporters while strengthening Trump’s claim of a rigged system and the moniker Crooked Hillary.
Wow! Still defending Comey? Holy Crap! Talk about drinking the Kool aid
The FBI director stood up and told us how Hillary broke the law.
Then he said F**K the law.
The Hillary supporters on social media are losing the battle badly. They are trying to pretend that Hillary did nothing wrong, when all people have to do is quote the FBI statement to refute that.
I was really hoping that Comey would recommend charges, and am horribly disappointed he did not, but in some ways this is better because now the FBI’s statement can’t be called “a political witch hunt” by the media.
Now the media has to try to explain away what the statement said, and that is hard to do without the claim that the prosecution is political.
Comey: “Damned. You can’t please anybody!”
My comment: “Damned straight, including me”.
