Honesty doesnt hack it.
A Boston taxi cab driver is disappointed he only received a $100 reward after returning $187,000 cash lost in his car.
I thought maybe he would give $500 or $1,000, maybe one of those bundles, Raymond (Buzzy) MacCausland, the lucky cabbie who found the fortune told the Daily News.

He should have used the danger money argument. Or stayed where he was and let the police take the money from his parked cab.
Homeless. I will bet he blows the entire lot of it in 6 months and is back on the street homeless. There is a reason the homeless are their. Mental illness or drug addiction. With either one, he is going to blow through that entire inheritance in short order and be back homeless once again. Mark my words.
I hope I am never tempted like that....I will remember this story though....in case it ever happens. LOL.
'Two chicks at the same time.'
Virtue is it's own reward.
Now this man will never have to look over his shoulder had he stole a lot of this money. Never have to worry about gossip from his associates as to "how come he is suddenly rich". No unpleasant enquiries from the police. No foolish spending on stuff he does not really need.
He is as free as a bird in the air.
Exactly! Honesty should be its own reward.
I once did something that I have never told anyone because it’s prideful. Even posting that sentence is probably wrong.
Jesus said we should pray in secret? I’m probably wrong about that. Oh! Do good works in secret, I think.
Sorry if I’m making no sense... waiting for my 20 year old son to come home. He bicycles on long rural roads with no lights... can’t really sleep until I hear him open the door.
GMTA!! Btw, I am a Libra!
“Homeless. I will bet he blows the entire lot of it in 6 months and is back on the street homeless.....Mark my words.”
You seem to resent such. Even if he does blow through it all in 6 months, it’s his to do what he wants with it, and he an his buddies will have a short break from being broke and homeless for a while.
The cabbie did the right thing.
The “homeless” guy did not.
Oh well.
Dem’s da breaks.
“And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” Matthew 6:4.
You did just fine
Thoughts and prayers for you and your son
Thank God!
Sleep well.
Thank you! He is now home and in his room. G*d bless you and yours, as I just said to another Freeper...if I weren’t on a tablet I would ping him or her.
All the best!
You too, FRiend!
Virtue is it’s own reward !
Glad he made it home
I remember those nights
POTD. Well done, sir!
On a quasi-related note: it took me several years to figure out that the same dude who played Lawrence was also Rex Kwan Do in Napoleon Dynamite. I’m slow on the uptake.
And now he has to fight with the IRS, cityhall, anyone the recognized his name...One way or the other he will soon return to skidrow, broke.
YES!
But how do you manage it?
Dribble it out slowly, but where to keep it?
How to acquire a large item without any suspicions? Just look at the jamoke governor of New York!
And remember, even paranoids can have real enemies!
PS: I had an uncle that kept his rainy day fund in the house, a secret stash between the wood work and the chimney.
Returning from work one evening, he sees smoke and it is his house!!!
Lighting struck the chimney and a metal box behind it!
They were able to restore some of it, lost 100k +.(1970)
A Scotsman can be funny like that.
