Police say Esteysi Sanchez Izazaga, 29, drove her car onto the sidewalk and hit the victim at random
A suspected drunk driver killed a pedestrian in a bloody hit-and-run Monday, driving for a mile with the victim's body lodged in the front seat, said Oceanside police. She allegedly parked in a cul-de-sac and walked away, before being arrested.
The collision happened at approximately 6:20 a.m. on the 4000 block of Mission Avenue when witnesses reported seeing a man walking on the sidewalk hit by a car, police said.
Police said Esteysi Sanchez Izazaga, 29, who goes by Stacy Sanchez, drove her car onto the sidewalk and hit the man at random.
Izazaga is suspected of driving under the influence, police said. Because of how fast the vehicle was allegedly traveling, the victim flew into the windshield, head down, coming to a rest on the front passenger seat.
The driver was arrested and charged with felony hit-and-run, felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter. NBC 7's Vanessa Herrera has the details. (Published Monday, June 27, 2016) The man's leg detached from his body and flew through the back window, landing on the trunk of the car, police said.
Izazaga continued driving for about a mile, police said. She parked the vehicle and walked away before officers arrived. Officers found her at her house, approximately two blocks from where she left the car.
One witness told NBC 7, he was outside changing the oil in his car when he witnessed the crash. He said it was like a scene out of a movie.

"There's no words to really describe it. I mean, just seeing that up close and personal, it's kind of traumatizing in a way," Edwin Esparza said.
Another man said he didn't want to come outside Monday morning because he could tell it would be a graphic and disturbing scene.
"Horrific. Yeah I've never in my whole life have I heard a story like this," Lou Torres said. "It was so strange that I couldn't imagine any scenario that would cause this."
Izazaga was arrested and charged with felony DUI, felony hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter. She was booked into the Vista Detention Facility. It is unclear if she has retained an attorney.

Well, she’s the leading suspect right now ... but the investigation is ongoing, I’m sure.

From the description, the victim did not survive the impact, so at least he didn’t die begging for her for help that she had no intention of providing. That’s happened before.
Most immigrants from below the Rio Grande are basically native americans. They handle firewater about as well as the red indians. Because they are indians.
It’s easy (for some) to think of illegal immigrants as kind of like Spaniards from Europe. They speak Spanish, right? But they’re nothing like Europeans.
We’re talking about Aztecs or the equivalent. And alcohol is not their friend.
There have been a number of similar drunken killings with the pedestrian lodged in the windshield or the front seat over the last few years, one in which a woman was apologizing to the fellow in the windshield as he died and making no effort to call for help. She parked him in her garage, I believe. The common thread seems to be that all those drivers have been women and the corpses men.

Yes, it is a cultural thing. In Mexico if a cop pulls you over for drunk driving you give $10 to the cop and you are on your way, no consequences. Also, most of those illegals have never driven a car before arriving here. I live about 50 miles away from where this happened. Whenever I hear about a somebody getting killed by a drunk driver, the perpetrator has two Spanish last names, like Sanchez Izzagza.
Sadly, the worst drivers I know are citizens of the U.S. Of course, if your illegal, you might not get punished.

Most Mexicans have ‘native Indian’ blood, as in ‘American native Indians.’ There is a reason for the theory about keeping alcohol away from Indians.

There was a similar incident years ago in Texas. The woman drove home, parked in the garage and left the guy there a couple days. I think she got the death penalty.
