BONO has waded into the European Union debate by telling US politicians they should be "be worried" about Britain cutting ties with Brussels.
The U2 frontman yesterday urged members of Congress to confront an "existential threat" to Europe not since since the 1940s.
He claimed the continent faces a wave of "hyper-nationalism" before warning that Britons could vote to leave the EU on June 23.
The rock legend, best known for 1987 hit With and Without You, said: "This is unthinkable stuff. And you should be very nervous in America about it."
Bono also discussed the struggles of migrants fleeing their homes in the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
Appearing before a Senate sub-committee, he said: "Of the top ten countries that are hosting refugees today, five of them are African.
"In Europe, the problem has moved from practical to existential. Let me soberly suggest to you that the integration of Europe, the very idea of European unity, is at risk here."
He added: "Europe is America's most important ally since the Second World War.
"Are we not your most important ally in the fight against violent extremism? This should really matter to you. I know it does.
"Put simply, as we Europeans have learned, if the Middle East catches fire, the flames jump any border controls. And if Africa fails, Europe cannot succeed.
And he bizarrely claimed extremist groups such as Islamic State could be defeated by comedians such as Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen.
He said: "It's like, you speak violence, you speak their language. But you laugh at them when they are goose-stepping down the street and it takes away their power.
"So I am suggesting that the Senate send in Amy Schumer and Chris Rock and Sacha Baron Cohen, thank you."
Anyone buying any music by that group made up of 80s whining and re-releasing the same song dozens of times is UNTHINKABLE.
>>lord knows what bon jovi is up to.<<
Singing cheesy songs on commercials.
But at least he didn’t bloat up like Axl Rose.
>>”Europe is America’s most important ally since the Second World War.<<
Correction: Europe is America’s biggest critic since we pulled its chestnuts out of the fire in WW2.
“Ally” it has NOT been.
He added: “Europe is America’s most important ally since the Second World War.”
He didn’t add that we needed that ally because Europeans produced Karl Marx, whom the Germans exported to Russia via Lenin, and whom the Russians exported to China, which we are still going to have a showdown with.
Personally? I put our most important ally as Britain— we have done stupid sh*t to each other over 50+ years (Kim Philby, Iraq War intel) and we still buy each other beers in international airports, even if just barely.
Indeed we do!
Bono's always after his Lucky Charms.
;^) Facebook saved him from Palm...

Bonehead Bono...
Ok, U2, but where do the Kinks stand on it?
Bono is a NWO, one big happy family, utopian ... idiot.
The guy doesn’t have a lick of common sense.
The US has taken quite a few more than the EU, proportionately, and we are looking forward to kicking them all out!
Can someone please explain to me why any USA citizen should care about what a washed-up rock star says? Did someone appoint him to be the philosophy guru of the century?
U2....the Dixie Chicks of Ireland.Bono, shut up and sing!
They're tired of waiting.
Overrunning Europe with Muslim immigrants who want to kill gays was not a threat ?
Actually it is Within You and Without You and it is by the Beatles. Who is Bono, was he married to Cher?
I believe they said to give the people what they want.
So here’s my question: I love music, always have. Was trying to buy Elvis 45s when I was 5 years old. Rock, Soul, Country, R&B, etc. HOW did this guy and his rotten droning band ever make a dime? All I can figure is that he is a creation, every bit as much as the little “Boy Bands” or the “Monkees”.
He must have been politically selected, and had a band thrown up around him.
I am still on cloud 9 from the Brexit vote. Screw you, Bono.
