Bring a good binocular and walk up Stone Mountain.

Georgia Aquarium, Coca Cola tour, Stone Mountain on the list .... what else?

Where's some good places to eat in downtown ATL? I told Laz I'd buy him a meal.

I spent 13 weeks in downtown Atlanta back in 1974. I think I would just stay away from there.

If you do go, some people like the Varsity for ribs etc.

The College Football Hall of Fame gets really good marks from a lot of folks I know, but I haven’t been yet. The Cyclorama is being relocated to the Atlanta History Center, so it is out. It’s awesome.

Higher end, Empire State South in Midtown, or Southern Art at the Intercontinental Hotel in Buckhead are both very good. Antica Pizza Napoletana by Georgia Tech has the best pizza in town, though Varuni Napoletana in Ansley is very very good and has better sides and adult beverage selection. Either of the 6 Feet Under bar/restaurants have excellent upscale bar food and great patios. Try the seafood stew. The one by Tech probably has better views of the Atlanta skyline.

Oh, and if you want an authentic Japanese isakaya (Salaryman after work eating and drinking establishment with a wide-ranging menu), Shoya isn’t too far from Laz.

Ride MARTA cross town at night. Or bicycle the Silver Comet trail. Either should give you a good adrenalin boost if you survive contact with the natives.

On a more serious note - if you like history visit the site of the Yankee defeat at Kennesaw Mountain (which isn’t in Kennesaw) Good views from the mountain top, and some preserved earthworks off of Ga 120 (Whitlock Ave/Dallas Highway) west of the high school on the same side of the highway. Also a large National Cemetery and a smaller Confederate one located a few miles apart in Marietta. Then up the road to Kennesaw to see the General.

In Atlanta, the Cyclorama has been restored, and the Texas used to be located there, as well (haven’t been in decades).

If you want to see how Native Americans really lived, run a couple of hours up the road toward Chattanooga and visit the Chief Vann house http://gastateparks.org/ChiefVannHouse/

The Varsity. Actually not downtown; up near Ga. Tech. You can load up on grease that will loosen any stiff joints. I recommend the onion rings.

Six Feet Under. Great seafood and restaurant bar.

Go to the one in Memorial Drive there’s also Tin Lizzy’s Cantina and a bunch of other places.

If you’re motivated to make some really bad choices go Irby and st. Andrews and Roswell Road triangle. There is about 10 or 15 bar is there mostly for the heterosexuals.

My Rugby Club is associated with 5p. That’s a great dive bar that start off with the PBR. Then take it from there.

Down the street from there on Paces Ferry Road is a great gyro place. It’s next to meehan’s Pub. I highly recommend the Gyros for awesome

The Vortex at Little Five Points. The entry is a giant skull.

The Elvis Burger is an experience.
