A frog hit by a lawn mower in Mount Isa owes its life to animal lovers who worked to fly it across Queensland for life-saving treatment at a special Cairns frog hospital.
The common green frog was run over in April by a woman who was "very distraught", FrogSafe president Deborah Pergolotti told 9NEWS.
The frog suffered a "deep gash" to his back and the woman called a relative for help, who in turn contacted FrogSafe's Cairns Frog Hospital.
The group then coordinated a rescue effort, enlisting the help of a regional airline and an animal transport company to fly the frog to Cairns.
"We were able to get on the flight on Monday (April 18), and by this stage he had gotten infected,"

That is some good satire.

My first reaction was if the frog was particularly special, it deserved the empty-shoe-box burial. That's about as far as I would go...
It ain't easy being green...
for pete's sake
So maybe to get good hospital care in the UK one needs to identify as a frog
My goodness, those are some meaty looking frogs legs!
Come on down to the north woods. We’ve got plenty
The worm turns....
At 6-7 years of age my parents went on a picnic to a pond that their friend bought a plot on. I should have brought a pole. I was investigating the ....surrounding land and came upon a hoard of baby toads. I proceeded to chuck them out into the pond. CRASH! As the huge fish broke the surface and then the toad was gone.. Did it again. SPLASH! And again WOOSH!! I wondered around the pond asking all the picnickers if the happend To be in the possession of fishing tackle......no dice. It was devistating to a young sportsman to be so near yet so far from a Classic fishing expedition
The pic of the smashed toad...
Every year here, when the ‘monsoon’ rains get going in July, all the toads come out of hibernation. The roads and highways are covered with them, many alive and many flattened.
[Were a Monarch Way Station]
LOL. Safe haven for undocumented Monarchs.
Have you heard of this?
Learned from our old neighbor Herbie on the lake in NH; he taught my boys when they were quite young, to use a strip of red flannel cloth, tied to a fishing line; cast it out, frog bites and won’t let go...and you have a frog.
For perpetuity....it became called as the *HERBIE METHOD*. :D
Jesus has to be returning soon. One more thing like this and He will be coming back. I just can NOT believe this stuff happens when we have millions of suffering PEOPLE in the world. Arrrghhhhhh!!!
+2.
“Actually, I haven’t seen a frog or a toad in a long time. The same goes with fireflies, honeybees, and butterflies.”
You should come visit. I am blessed with all those critters and many more.
I’m especially fond of fireflies. They proliferate when the grass is high. It’s like having thousands of little Tinkerbells. Mowing destroys them. So that’s my excuse not to.
There are LIB loons all over the world. God help us!
You treat them with BBQ sauce.
In the mean time, only 500 humans were sucked from the wombs of their mothers in the time it took to get a stupid frog to a “hospital”.
Priorities. Perfect.
