It hurt him, ergo it was a gaffe, and I hope to God it doesn’t screw us.

As I said before he shouldn’t even be talking about this stupid lawsuit, so unnecessary.

I’m glad some can see it for the gaffe it was. He never should have used the language “Mexican heritage” when citing a reason to distrust Judge Curiel. It’s just not defensible in the public arena. To far too many, to impugn even one’s nationality is to be “racist”. It doesn’t matter if technically speaking, by the mere definition of words, it’s actually not racist. It is in the dim minds of the left, and that’s all that matters, again in the public arena (which sadly they control)

He should have said right out of the gate that it was because of the Judge’s associations with La Raza that his impartiality can’t be assumed. Leave his nationality out of it. It’s too late now though. Hopefully, as you said he moves on. In his victory speech last night he said he’d be giving a press conference sometime around Monday all about Clinton. So that’s good. Get back on message so to speak.

As to the OP, I must say, sadly as a former Cruzer, Sen. Cruz shouldn’t be enabling the further bloodletting surrounding Trump’s gaffe. He should stick to the job he has now, being a Senator, the race is over. Any more criticism about Trump from him comes across as sour grapes.
