Donald Trump repeatedly mocked Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., as Pocahontas at a press conference in North Dakota on Thursday, even as a Native American woman present at the event interrupted to call his comments offensive.
Thats very offensive. Sorry, the woman said.
Is that offensive? You tell me, Trump asked.
The woman replied that she was offended, and Trump quickly repeated the phrase.
Oh, oh really oh, Im sorry about that, Trump said before turning to a reporter who had asked about Warren, immediately using the term again. Pocahontas. Is that what you said?
Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, has previously used the term to refer to Warren as an allusion to a controversy over her past claims of Native American ancestry. Warren listed herself as a minority when she worked as a faculty member at a pair of Ivy League law schools in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Though she reportedly is 1/32 Cherokee, that would not qualify her to be a member of the tribe. The issue made headlines during Warrens 2012 election campaign and she defended herself by claiming her family stories held that they had Native American roots. His record has been bad in terms of, you know, speaking about other indigenous people across the border. Mexicans. They are indigenous to their country. And we didnt have borders back in the day on the continent, you know, we were all indigenous people that were roaming freely in what is now Canada, the US, and Mexico, Robertson said.
Robertson, who described herself as a member of the Cree Nation, also alluded to Trumps German ancestry.

While some find Trump’s language inflammatory, this is a perfect example of why it’s completely necessary. Probably half of voting-age Americans didn’t know the Elizabeth Warren - Native American story a day ago. Now, thanks to this exchange, they’re finally hearing about this privileged white woman who passed herself off as Native American to get ahead.
It’s the same with bringing up Vince Foster, or Bill’s philandering. Younger voters have NEVER heard those stories. Trump’s bluster is breaking through the liberal firewall on so many levels.
Once there was a Harvard Queen
She gazed at her portfolio
All around her workers raised
Golden idols for her campaign
She should take offense at Warren not at Trump. He was just calling Warren out ( WHICH IS WHAT OUR “REPORTERS” SHOULD DO )
She got away with it in her run for the Mass Senate because she is liberal and Mass would vote for a perv and killer as long as a “D” was by the name. She figured that it was a non-issue. But the rest of the country is learning about it now and they are not so amused with it. In short, Trump is over the target.
How.
Perfect response and one I agree with. Trump could also just as easily insert Pocahontas ‘wannabe’ to clarify he isn’t slandering the real Pocahontas.
Didn’t a number of authentic aboriginal American women actually confront Fauxcahontas over her claims? I seem to recall something like that.

Elizabeth Warren has as much Indian in her as a Jeep Cherokee does.

It reminded me of what we said when we were kids and someone made fun of us. “Sticks and stones might break my bones but words will never hurt me!” People are such wimps now!
Exactly! Now liberal reporters have to explain it. If they don't explain it kids will just punch up a search engine on their smart phones and find out that way. The MSM risks losing more viewers if they try to ignore all these questions Trump is raising.
It was offensive to Pocahontas. She was a genuinely pivotal figure in early American history. She is also an ancestor many prominent Virginia families with the surnames of Byrd, Rolfe and Bolling, among others.
OK, now that doesn’t apply to Warren. You’re just milking the NY thing now. lol

I think, Fakeachontas is preferred.
It is not pure happenstance that Cortes took only 500 Spanish soldiers to conquer the great Aztec Empire. He got a lot of help from the remnants of the tribes which they enslaved or slaughtered.
It is also likely that at least some of the Navajo, Hopi, Zuni, Pima and other southwestern tribes were escapees from the evil Aztec.
