Doctor says man was disturbed psychologically

A passenger tried to open the door of a plane flying at 38,000 feet during a Munich-Vancouver flight to smoke a cigarette.

According to a report in Emarat Al Youm, pilot diverted the flight to Hamburg an hour after the takeoff due to the incident.

The plane took off from Munich, Germany, and was bound for Vancouver, Canada, but it had to change its course and landed in Hamburg, Germany, after passenger created panic inside the plane.

According to a statement by German carrier Lufthansa, the passenger was suffering from mental disorders.

Another passenger said the man was acting strangely but the crew decided to continue the flight.

Airport police arrested the reckless passenger when the plane landed and sent him to a psychiatrist, who revealed that the passenger was disturbed mentally and psychologically.

The plane, later, took off from Hamburg Airport and reached Vancouver two hours after the scheduled time.

I’m sure he intended to step outside to have his smoke.

For anyone who is a nervous flyer, you can at least scratch one item off your list of fears: It is physically impossible to open an airliner door in flight as the pressure differential between the cabin and outside air creates a force of several tons holding the door closed. The Incredible Hulk couldn’t open it.

If this had been in the U.S., my guess is he would have been tackled to the floor by the passengers. “We’re not gonna take it!”

I’ll just step out onto the wing for a quick smoke and I’ll be right back.

May have been an exceptionally smooth ride. He forgot where he was.

Be careful sir, that first step beyond the doorway is a big one.

Not too long ago there was a thread about Third World citizens (Muzzies) flying on airplanes. Trying to open doors for fresh air, trying to step outside to strecth, etc. The best was a muzzy firing up a Coleman stove to make tea and setting the whole damn craft on fire which made the pilot land in what appeared to be a desert. You can take the Muzzie out of the desert..but he’ll end up back in it.

Here's a physics question:

If you were to get out of a jetliner and walk out onto the wing of it while in flight at 35,000 feet, what would happen?

Would the wind immediately blow you off the wing?

Or would you be able to "ride" the plane like the guy in the picture here (obviously photo-shopped - or is it?).

"Wonder what's in those cigarettes he smokes....hmmm..."

Since I live in Colorado, I have a guess...

Also, I hope he realized that you have to light the cigarette before you step outside since the 500 mph slipstream can make it pretty tricky.

I once heard a Southwest stewardess say cigar smoking was allowed out on the wings.

LOL! That's one serious addiction problem.

A former co-worker of mine used to joke that hardcore drug users didn't need to be reminded not to shoot up or snort while on airplane flights.

The reason was because they could wait for the duration of the flight and maybe an hour or two longer.

Oh, I think you would definitely be immediately blown away if not ripped apart. While the air is about one-third the density of air at sea level (assuming altitude of 35,000 feet), the velocity more than makes up for it. Considering the fact that if they attempted to lower the landing gear at that altitude and speed they would no longer have landing gear, I wouldn't want to subject my body to it.

Oh, and is that Prince out on that wing?

The guy just wanted to toke on a cigarette. RIIIIIIIIGHT!

So acts of terrorism, or acts of attempted terrorism are now psychological disorders, or mental illness. Got it!

I call it Quran disease, or Koran’s disease.

He has to be at least 20 feet outside to be legal.

Most likely, you’d freeze to death long before you hit the ground.
