Veterans are outraged that a West Point cadet decided to phone it in during a march on Saturday morning.
The cadet, who was wrapping up a 47-month training experience and graduating, had her eyes glued to her phone instead of paying attention to marching.

I call ‘em like I see ‘em.
Between this imbecile and the bruthahs raising their fists for a recent photo, it’s clear that obama’s West Point is falling on its collective arse.
Where is your SARCASM tag....she is a TWIT
“Route step”
Maybe he had a medical profile that allowed him to use the roller bag.
Rightfully so!
On my graduation from Army Basic Training, I was standing in relaxed formation with my company prior to the march to the parade ground. The guy next to me was smoking a cigarette and I asked him for a hit on it. No sooner did he pass it to me and I took a hit that our DI saw ME smoking it and JUMPED ALL OVER MY ASS AND FORCED ME TO EAT IT........LOL!
Yes. A big nothing burger. Random no-name nutjob "vets" are outraged? Gimme a break.

What year?
Agree. That was an organized gaggle from A to B, not an actual march. Been there, done that at USAFA. Gaggled from the busses to the outside of the stadium for grad ceremonies...then did the official march after forming up at the appropriate time.
Broken window syndrome?
A lot of military training is nonsensical and trivial to the outside observer.

Route step is a relaxed formation but is is a formation none the less.

A guy in my USAF pilot training class still had 8-hrs of tours left on graduation day. Would not let him leave, or pin on his bars, until he finished marching his tours.
It’s called route march.
Yup. They learn how to blend in because no one wants to the “that guy”
Yup. That’s what I thought.
West Point isn’t what it used to be. And that is not good.
Why do they let the skirts wear skirts?
Yes. Marching at ease, but with talking allowed. Look it up.
Marines are not allowed to walk and text or walk and talk on a cell phone. They are to be alert at all times going to and fro.
