The dumpster fire that is the national superstore known as Target has had quite a rough time lately. And is it any wonder? They cant seem to get their act together when it comes to pleasing their customers.
First they ban guns within their stores because safety.
Then they began allowing men into womens restrooms because equality.
Then they are currently suing a guy who stopped another guy from stabbing a girl to death because well, because theyre dumb.
The American people responded, and as can be expected, Targets ship has begun to sink. Not only did well over a million people sign the petition to boycott the store, the stock is slipping into the drink. Fewer and fewer people want to shop there, because frankly the store is unsafe. Especially to women who cant carry a gun into the restroom a man just followed them into, and no one can save her should something happen because Target might sue the rescuer.
This all seems pretty obvious, and in no way confusing. People dont want to shop at Target, because Target is a bad place to shop.
This apparently isnt obvious to the CEO, though. According to him, nobody wants to shop at his stores because of and I cant believe I have to report this weather.
Im not kidding. Target CEO Brian Cornell told the Wall Street Journal that the reason sales are down is because people just dont want to go out and buy stuff because its raining outside in some parts of the country.
Despite weakness in the first half of the year, Target said it still considers its full-year earnings forecast achievable. Mr. Cornell said the spending slowdown at the start of the year was the result of consumer caution and unusually cold and wet weather in certain regions.
Its been a very wet and cold start to the year and its reflected in our sales, he said. We havent seen anything from a structural standpoint that gives us pause.
Nothing but the million+ strong boycott, including those who havent voiced, yet refuse to shop. Apparently, the people speaking out against Targets practices, and refusing to support them with their wallet, does not give the company pause.
I cant think of a better way to signal to consumers that you dont want their business.
#NeverTarget
Just realized: Target nearest my house was turned into a Walmart mini-store.
Just reporting what I am seeing over the past several weeks.
YMMV.
Target is basically a government protected company due to its long-standing political affiliations and connections.
Gov. Mark Dayton inherited all his wealth from precursors of today's Target.
It's doubtful that politically well-connected companies like Target will be cut off from the spigot of taxpayer subsidies any time soon.
No, "youths" and "teens", as the media say.
My family never goes to the Target up the street, because it’s always cold and rainy there. The weather at the Wal-Mart at the other end of the boulevard is always sunny and beautiful, so that’s where we shop.
Global warming
The CEO is BS-ing to save his bacon for another three months.
The next quarterly report showing decline and he’s toast.
It was a very mild winter in most of the country in the Q1 2016. But it was not the bathroom thing either as that started in Q2
The bathroom flap will show up in end of Q2 results ... after June.
But with all the empty aisles and checkouts, it sure might be convenient.....
Get the nets!
BLM-type yutes
At the end of their 3rd quarter, he be like: “Sun got in my eyes man.”
Wonder if the stockholders will bring a class action suit, or be happy with just running him out of town?
Unseasonable weather actually can have adverse effects on retail sales, in apparel particularly. So, he’s not being entirely disingenuous. But, with Walmart being up in the same period, it comes across as rationalizing.
perverted son of a bitch should be forced to take a drug test
Same in my area. Target and WM are about 10 minutes apart. I’ve seen the WM busier late at night than Target during prime late afternoon/early evening hours when people get out of work.
